Maiden Off-road Adventure in my Tremor Maverick

After 3 weeks and 500 miles I was finally able to get my baby off road! Went on a little Labor Day Weekend Sunday drive with the family to test it out the off-road capabilities of this truck. We went on the Timpooneke Trail
and it did amazing!

I was really impressed with its handling, off-road modes (tried out several), and trail control is great! I really am loving this truck a little more each day! It did an 18 degree hill climb on a challenge route like it was nothing.




The pause on the climb was me switching drive modes.

That "trail" is in better shape than most of the township roads down here in SE Ohio!

Yeah its about the same as my driveway minus the switchback. However the scenery there cant be beat.


The Tremors are so much fun. We loved it in Moab and Durango. Yesterday we drove on a black sand beach, and went down a to a remote fishing party spot that is all rutted trails. It also has 2 exits onto the road. One is easyish and the other it rain wash rutted, rocky, and a nice asphalt shelf to climb up at the road. The Tremor handled it great with about 1000lbs of passengers and 200lbs of dogs and gear.

Ya I didn't take pics of the rough or rutted parts of the road. The pics make it look very well graded, which for the most part it is not. I took those pictures more of the scenery around it than the rough road it took on.

Yes! I found it on the onX Offroad app. You go through the Timpooneke camp ground to get to the trail. I didn't realize there was a road there either. Been up there hiking but didn't remember a road access. It was beautiful to be up there after 25+ years since I did the hike to the top of Timp.

We'll find out soon enough! The ski resorts saw the first snow of the season already at the tops of the mountains this past weekend.

We were in Utah last month visiting our son. There are trails and beautiful mountain scenery everywhere. I now have one more trail to find next time.

So I drove my 22 EB AWD in Vermont last winter 26 inches over 2 days in March. Mav handled it without a issue. I've owned a lot of 4WD vehicles and while I'm not taking this where my Scout or 4 Runner might go, the Maverick was above expectation on that trip.
