Call me crazy, but I'd like just a plug with a flat surface. Having said that, I'd certainly consider a plug that allowed you to insert a photo.

I'm a little confused. Are you talking about something like the picture below?Call me crazy, but I'd like just a plug with a flat surface. Having said that, I'd certainly consider a plug that allowed you to insert a photo.
Oh, that's pretty neat. I wouldn't/t mind something low key like that. Obviously, I'm not up to speed on all that's out there. Where'd you get that one Glen?I'm a little confused. Are you talking about something like the picture below?

Obviously I can't speak to the quality of it. I just saw it on AmazonOh, that's pretty neat. I wouldn't/t mind something low key like that. Obviously, I'm not up to speed on all that's out there. Where's you get that one Glen?
Looks good! I think I am ready to go back to Garmin. Not happy with Google maps or Waze or giving up the screen for Nav.Got mine today. Fits the cubby and holds my GPS steady. Perfect for holding my GPS up away from the controls. The ball is the correct size. Easy now to just lift the GPS off to store it when parked.

Could you let us know what GPS unit you used? The ones I looked at started at 7" wide which would block the Maverick's touch screen. Are you using a smaller one?Looks like mine is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday. Will post pictures of it installed and my GPS attached. Hopefully it will work and replace the mount I have jammed in there now.

My GPS is a 7" display. I can see and get to all the Mav's display buttons with no problems. Wouldn't want a smaller GPS.Could you let us know what GPS unit you used? The ones I looked at started at 7" wide which would block the Maverick's touch screen. Are you using a smaller one?
Won't that 8" screen overlap onto the Maverick's?Ordered.
Just got the Garmin DriveSmart 86 GPS, which has a large, 8 inch screen.

The Garmin DriveSmart 86 has a larger ball mount size of 22mm (instead of the most common 17mm size).
Ordered a 22mm to 17mm size adapter on Amazon to attach the Garmin DriveSmart 86 (22mm ball) to the Mabett Dash Cubby insert (17mm ball).

Will post here once all setup to ensure it all fits, the cubby insert with FITS can securely hold the weight of the GPS with an adapter, and that it doesn't stick out too far in the cabin.
Wish me luck.
Thank you.Check out posts #28 & #30 for size.
Like the other members I use mine as my primary gps. Because I have an old Garmin it has a 6" screen measured diagonally.Thank you.
It looks as though those members are using the satellite GPS as their primary navigation over use of their phone. I was hoping for a bit smaller screen so I can use the satellite as a back up to my phone's GPS.
I get the cubby mount sometime next week and will post pictures once I have it installed.Won't that 8" screen overlap onto the Maverick's?
That would be a preferred size for my use. At one time I had one of those smaller Garmins, but where is went is a mystery.Like the other members I use mine as my primary gps. Because I have an old Garmin it has a 6" screen measured diagonally.
I still do the lifetime updates.
If you're using the satellite GPS instead of your phone, then you're right, overlap wouldn't much matter. While my phone serves as my primary GPS, I do like having satellite as a fail-safe.I get the cubby mount sometime next week and will post pictures once I have it installed.
I expect some of the right side screen to be covered, but I don't use the main screen much.
I usually control the radio and volume from the steering wheel or the physical knob buttons below the screen.
I like the larger, 8" GPS screen size for my eyes and quick glance for map directions.
Plus, the 8" GPS screen has both landscape and portrait mode, so I will take some pics of both setups.
The previous pictures from SLJ show a 7" GPS screen fitting great, so I am optimistic.
