Call me crazy, but I'd like just a plug with a flat surface. Having said that, I'd certainly consider a plug that allowed you to insert a photo.

I'm a little confused. Are you talking about something like the picture below?

Oh, that's pretty neat. I wouldn't/t mind something low key like that. Obviously, I'm not up to speed on all that's out there. Where'd you get that one Glen?

Got mine today. Fits the cubby and holds my GPS steady. Perfect for holding my GPS up away from the controls. The ball is the correct size. Easy now to just lift the GPS off to store it when parked.

Looks good! I think I am ready to go back to Garmin. Not happy with Google maps or Waze or giving up the screen for Nav.

I ordered Mabett’s dash cubby insert set because of my interest in two of the included inserts, the magnetic phone mount and the electric fan. I found the box with the FITS mount is secure in the cubby space and offers an additional mini-storage space The included universal ball mount also anchors the set’s attachments and others that are likely to be developed and 3D printed by Maverick owners. I wish Mabett had considered including an additional FITS ball mount to alleviate the need to disassemble one accessory to attach to and install another. 3D printing offers a source I will likely have to turn to for my second.

I’m exchanging my current phone holder for Mabett’s. I appreciate the quick and easy preparation of the mount. When first attaching the magnetic ring to the back of my case, the ring’s adhesive tape was insufficient to hold the phone sevurely. The case’s back is irregular and the ring would pull loose when separating the phone from the mount. I chose to reapply the ring with an application of super glue. So far, so good.

I spend a lot of time sitting in my truck waiting for my wife while she is at appointments or stopping for a quick errand. Rather than running the engine for AC, I can see my using the fan to create a comfortable breeze. I’ll be keeping mine in my glove compartment for such use.

I read where someone said you can never have enough cup holders. If that is true, I should be glad that Mabett added another to my truck. At the same time as the cubby set, I ordered a pair of Mabett’s headrest hooks. Although the item has multiple fold down hooks for hanging things, I wish Mabett had thought to include one extra strong hook to fit the FITS slot. My wife’s carryall bag really does carry it all. My guess is its weight will overload the smaller hooks. Again, I’ll likely turn to a 3D printer to make my own. With a molded FITS receiver, the head rest units will support the use of any component from the cubby set for passengers in the rear seat. Together these products bring another welcomed level of utility to my Maverick.

Looks like mine is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday. Will post pictures of it installed and my GPS attached. Hopefully it will work and replace the mount I have jammed in there now.
Could you let us know what GPS unit you used? The ones I looked at started at 7" wide which would block the Maverick's touch screen. Are you using a smaller one?

My GPS is a 7" display. I can see and get to all the Mav's display buttons with no problems. Wouldn't want a smaller GPS.

Ordered.

Just got the Garmin DriveSmart 86 GPS, which has a large, 8 inch screen.

https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-DriveSmart-8-inch-Navigator-High-resolution/dp/B09D5MQQKD/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=3M6THBYHM6O6V&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.mEHeaJBeZBTGVg9Mvs9-VYKUQkXS91RHYlIYdoiGIhOOjfnQDEknZ2B0dKRjPXUl3oBuwqfjh40E2Ntn3b8n0x7o7fl64j6gd7MiaJlebYW7yFvygNleeD-tcybUnrj3zqe7XVP0Q6eSdGGKOCk7IhsYFNFFKQYuwZhIWQjCWknQeH-h_p-_VV6d-Zzz6Gk4nIGfPY1uQ7r3IL7ftEBeEw.geepSwSMV4buZlQZwAf4a_v8b7UlJsT_2q5i8Bw5TAw&dib_tag=se&keywords=garmin+86&qid=1729306607&sprefix=garmin+86,aps,222&sr=8-1&ufe=INHOUSE_INSTALLMENTS:US_IHI_5M_HARDLINES_AUTOMATED

The Garmin DriveSmart 86 has a larger ball mount size of 22mm (instead of the most common 17mm size).

Ordered a 22mm to 17mm size adapter on Amazon to attach the Garmin DriveSmart 86 (22mm ball) to the Mabett Dash Cubby insert (17mm ball).

https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Garmin-DriveSmart-OTR800-OTR1000/dp/B0BC77Y91G

Will post here once all setup to ensure it all fits, the cubby insert with FITS can securely hold the weight of the GPS with an adapter, and that it doesn't stick out too far in the cabin.

Wish me luck.
Won't that 8" screen overlap onto the Maverick's?

Thank you.
It looks as though those members are using the satellite GPS as their primary navigation over use of their phone. I was hoping for a bit smaller screen so I can use the satellite as a back up to my phone's GPS.

Like the other members I use mine as my primary gps. Because I have an old Garmin it has a 6" screen measured diagonally.
I still do the lifetime updates.

I get the cubby mount sometime next week and will post pictures once I have it installed.

I expect some of the right side screen to be covered, but I don't use the main screen much.

I usually control the radio and volume from the steering wheel or the physical knob buttons below the screen.

I like the larger, 8" GPS screen size for my eyes and quick glance for map directions.
Plus, the 8" GPS screen has both landscape and portrait mode, so I will take some pics of both setups.

The previous pictures from SLJ show a 7" GPS screen fitting great, so I am optimistic.

That would be a preferred size for my use. At one time I had one of those smaller Garmins, but where is went is a mystery.

If you're using the satellite GPS instead of your phone, then you're right, overlap wouldn't much matter. While my phone serves as my primary GPS, I do like having satellite as a fail-safe.
Thanks for answering my inquiry.
