Luxury Package Changed?

My XLT just arrived at the dealer yesterday. It has the luxury package, but as stated above, no push button start. When I ordered it in January I had never had a vehicle that had either and I didn't care about it. Since then we got a 2022 RAV4 Hybrid with both and now I wish I was getting it on the Maverick. Oh well, it isn't necessary, just nice. I won't have it for 2023 either because the 2023 I ordered is also an XLT. I decided I wanted the Tremor more than a Lariat, the Lariat Tremor was more than I wanted to spend.

Hello James, I took delivery of my 22 Maverick velocity blue XLT with luxury package and copilot 360. On my Maverick I have push button start on my key fob I also have through fordpass I can start my Maverick. In reference to getting into it I have the lock and unlock on my key fob and I have entry pad on the right side of my drivers side door next to the window. I seem to remember Ford putting out some kind of memo or email stating something about they were going to do away with a lot of functions on the key fob. It seems that they raise the price 2000 plus dollars and took away about another 1200 to 1400 dollars worth of accessories no more Wi-Fi hotspot, no more leather steering wheel, not sure what all they took off key fob , no more drop in or spray in dead liner , no more bed rails and I'm not sure what else they have taken off the Mavericks?????? . So with adding everything up the same Maverick from 22 to 23 or late 22 is just not nearly not the same as the equipment that was in the 22 into a 23 with a price increase will cost you between $3,000 and $3,500 extra dollars. That's a heck of a price jump. Also if you got rolled over from a 22 to 23 if you have an ego you got 1750 dollars if you had a hybrid you got 2500 dollars. The 22 and the 23 Maverick are the same truck yet you got less money to equip it the way it was in 22 so basically when Ford rolled you over to a 23 it cost you around a extra $1,000 not sure what happened to price protection?????. All in all the Maverick is still a good little truck I just wish Ford would have treated it's roll over customers Fair and also you ladies and gentlemen that are getting your Mavericks late in 22 it's just not right the missing equipment and the extra money the customer's are having to pay again the customers have the shaft in Ford got the oil well.

Yes, I did get the remote start from both key fobs and I can use the Ford pass as well. I was actually happily surprised to have gotten the price protection from last year, the dealer didn’t use sticker price. I can’t believe all the changes either or the fact that so many people just get screwed depending on the dealership they ordered at. I just could not remember if that push button was something that was just removed as a contraint, seems like I just forgot over the last 15 months.

As noted, Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start is a standard feature on Lariat and not available on any other Maverick. Here's what XLT Luxury Package contains:

That’s how I feel. My wife’s car has it and it’s pretty nice. It’s just the convenience of not having to take a key fob out of your pocket but by no means a deal breaker. I couldn’t justify spending extra on the lariat at the time I ordered. I love everything about the truck so far.

I didn't get a Lariat because of the push button start.

My 2017 Mustang has push button start. About 6 months after I bought it, while about 75 miles from home, I got a message that the key fob battery was low and the car was about to turn itself off. Holy crap!

I prefer a key, thank you.

There is a location (that varies with every vehicle model that has push button start) to put your key fob so that the vehicle can read it passively, even if the key fob has no power to transmit. On the Maverick, it's inside the center console, per the owner's manual. Look it up and practice it. It's always smart to practice procedures before you need them!

Also, ever since I've owned vehicles that had key fobs, whether or not they enabled push button start, I've started carrying a spare battery in the glove box, just in case. If I use the spare, I make a note to put another there ASAP. I'd put it in a small ziploc to prevent accidental electrical contact with anything (I already have a lot of tiny ones for my medications), and tape it to a spot so that it doesn't move around and possibly get lost/buried.

The car won't turn itself off if the fob battery dies, not sure where you got that bad data. That would be a liability nightmare.

I have a push to start in my Edge and my wife's Altima. Won't ever buy another vehicle without it. It's funny how Ford pushes this to higher trims when so many other makers have it even on the lower tier vehicles. Same for ACC.

Yeah that is an odd thought. Even if the battery in the fob dies you can still start the vehicle, either by tapping the key on the start/stop button or another manufacture selected location. Isn't it in the arm rest on the Maverick?

Yes, in the center console. Also it doesn't just cut off. That is silly

Indeed, my last two vehicles (08 Camry, 2013 RAV4) both had push button, never had an issue even if the batteries were low. It would warn you, but would never turn the vehicle off.

I don't know if I will like the Active X seats, would have preferred cloth, but will see. I live in SC and truck will be parked in my driveway with hot sun beating down on it all day long.

Cannot speak to Ford's Active X, but I found similar materiel from other manufacturers were fine if you used a window shade.

Thanks! I have already purchased a window shade for the front windshield, which is what will take the bulk of the sun as my truck sits in the driveway. Thinking of getting the two front side windows tinted darker, to match the rear side windows and help keep the heat out???? Thoughts?

Remote start and let that AC go for a minute or two before you get in the vehicle maybe?

My 2004 Infiniti has hardly any of these features other than power adjustable and warmed seats so I'm hoping I enjoy at least some of them.

I also have hardly any tinting so I think I will enjoy that.

do what I do, keep spare battery’s in the glove box. And a Key ignition is neanderthal in this day and age. Lol
