After a stint of cold* weather my low tire indicator came on. Check one of the rear tires was 27. The others were 28 but the 27 had the indicator on it. Filled the tire back to 31 lbs. and the light stayed on. It stayed on for about four days and then it reset just today. Not sure of the why on this. Any ideas.

Tire pressor 35psi cold
Cold is in am before driving after sitting 10 hours of so at ambient temp. These are small lightweight tires which contain less air than most tires. They can gain/lose about 1.2 lb of pressure for every 10-11 degrees of change in ambient temp. Road heat after 75 mph 6-8 miles can add ,3-4 lbs depending on ambient temp. Bottom line = make pressure adjustment if you have to add air during driving. If you air tire to 35 warm it's most likely going to be 31-32 in am.

Your door jam lists the recommended tire pressure. 31 is too low which is likely why your light stayed on.

Yea . I check air pressure on truck menu every time I drive it . I have to add air about once a month to all motorized vehicles . bicycle more often . I have a 120 volt Husky air inflator that was purchased at home depot ( about $35 ) a couple years ago to replace another one . It has been very useful for me . There are some battery operated one's available . I also have a basic 12 volt air inflator that works off vehicle 12 volt socket but not very accurate . always synchronize it with accurate motorcycle tire pressure gauge . Used when traveling/camping .

I use a battery Ryobi with 0.1 psi resolution. I wish the TPI readings on dash were also in tenth of a pound.

There's a sticker on the driver's B-pillar with tire pressure specifications you should use for your truck.
Probably 35 lb per square inch.

I have BF Goodrich KO2s and run 42-45psi. Haven’t had any TPMS warnings but they seem to read fairly accurately. I can see the pressure rising as the tires warm up on a longer drive in what seems like real time. I always keep a Milwaukee M18 inflater in my truck just in case.
