Looking to order a 2023 Ford Maverick when window opens

Hello everyone, I've had my eyes on the maverick since the day it was announced last year. I Decided to wait out the 2022 model to see how it looks in person and if any issues arrive. I'm pretty set on it now, so I would like to order a Maverick lariat with the luxury package. I have a couple of questions for you guys though. When the order window opens on August 16th, should I go straight to my dealer and place an order, or submit an order request on the Ford website? Also, I have heard that shortages have been an issue for some options. Do you think it will be possible to get a Maverick with the lariat luxury package? I don't mind spending the money and waiting a while for my truck to come in, but I want to make sure my truck has all the features it is supposed to have. Also, how likely is it that any features will change with the 2023 model? Any rumors? Thanks

I would figure out who "my dealer" was going to be way before August 16th.
I'd research on this forum to find a good one.

You want an honest, competent one who will get your Maverick ordered correctly and give you a signed buyers order. Once you find them, let them know that you want to order ASAP on August 16. Configure your Maverick now on Ford's website and get all your questions answered by August 15th. Any changes will be minor I'm sure.

You should be good then.

I’m pretty sure that 23’s will still have ADM. you really can’t order online, as I understand it Ford kicks your info to your closest or preferred dealer to place the order. So basically you are stuck with dealing with a dealer.

Not Houston but Austin. Maxwell Ford did us right. You could probably use some good BBQ anyhow.

Well my father and I both ordered a maverick and from different dealers in the Houston area to be safe. Helfman Ford was good, it hasn't been built but the salesman made sure to get the buyers order signed by the GM when I didn't even realize that was needed until I found this forum and spent some time on it. They told me absolutely its MSRP + taxes and doc fees. But there is a $500 refundable deposit. Planet ford I45 let my dad order one with no deposit but they didn't give him a signed order from the GM back so we are unsure. They told him it was going to be MSRP + taxes and doc fees too but he also hasnt had it built so we will see.

You want to at least work up an order online. That is a cheap education before you head to a FORD dealership. I worked mine up last year and then sent it to a couple of dealers. I got their price over email and proceeded from there. The last thing you want to do is walk into a dealership inquiring about a special order with no verification of their numbers. A small deposit is reasonable but get the deal in writing.

I will order a '23 also this year. Part shortages are real so best to expect delays like everyone else. My wait was 51 weeks. I paid sticker but next time I try to go lower on the order end. I am putting a deal in their lap with little effort on their part. At least discount the sales commission to me.
