70s are too wide. They stick out of the sides unless you are adding the flares. Go with 245/65R17. Clears the wheel wells plastic and gives you a full inch of height. After watching this video, I’m thinking I might drop from my 19” wheels to 17” wheels and get a set of 235/70R17
70 is not the width, it is the aspect ratio, which translates to height70s are too wide. They stick out of the sides unless you are adding the flares. Go with 245/65R17. Clears the wheel wells plastic and gives you a full inch of height.
Tires? Look into the Continental Terrain ATs. Best on road wet and dry performance and ready for some off road.
My two cents.
I got stock height (for now) and 245 /65 R17 Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail AT and no rubbing. I think it looks pretty good, but I would like to do a 2 inch Eibach spring lift once I know Eibach has tested and approved a lift kit for the 25 AWD hybrid.looking for tire options

Yeah... definitely don't.... Tire sizes/ratios use 'new math'...Huh. Saw a YouTube video where 70s were sticking out like a sore thumb while 65s were not.
Don't believe everything you see, I guess.
Thanks for the correction and education.
Just try calculating for offsets on rims (necessary if putting Escape/Focus/Volvo wheels on an XL for instance)...that works in reverse in terms of how we might think as well...
