Looking for thoughts

I'm just now in a position to start looking for a Maverick. I don't recall if before the 2024 model Ecoboost = AWD automatically.

I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the EcoBoost FWD for 2024.

Considering ordering one since anything on the lot has ADM on it.

AWD is required on the Ecoboost Lariat trim for 2024, all other trims it is optional.

My opinion...
If you are going the front wheel drive route and you can wait for it, I would get a hybrid. The improved gas mileage will pay for itself financially and you will spend less time stopping for gas. Many have said they get more than 700 miles on a tank.

My build date is 1/22 so I can't compare yet, how is the low end on the ecoboost? I am getting the 4k tow, so it should handle similar to yours.

I had been waiting to see what came of the 2024 Tacoma because I actually wanted back into a manual, but if you all think Ford is screwing you with Maverick pricing, you should check out 24 Tacoma pricing.
Combine that with the fact you can't order what you want. Your dealer has to keep checking on what's being built, and if something close to what you want comes up, snag it.

If you find a FWD Eco on a dealer's lot, it most likely won't command ADM. Maybe even deal below MSRP if you try.

That is how we got our Prius. It was actually another dealer that told us a different dealership had close to what we wanted coming. Salesperson we had was terrible though. He lied to us about everything, made comments about how another dealership didn’t know what they had, and then went as far to make a comment that we maybe couldn't afford the car. Everything he said was wrong, the other dealership was right, and then when it finally did come in, we couldn’t get our salesman to call us back, and our financing expired.
I will never do business with Merced Toyota in California again. Only reason we went to them was because they had no ADM, but the way the salesman treated us, I’m not going back.

Also, less maintenance (less frequent fluid/filters changes, significantly longer brake pad lifetime) and likely better resale value in the future.
