The 25+ EB has both a MAF and a MAP btw. The MAF is located right there on the air intake - but the MAP makes the final decision on fuel input. Doesn’t really matter with this OP air intake though. Cherokee will agree with me there I hope 🤞
Not to hijack the thread, but by that logic wouldn't an aftermarket BOV be fine then? Since the MAP is the one making the call on fuel and not the MAF? I know, just silly little "psssh" noises, but it's a legit question...

You are correct - aftermarket BOV (which release clean filtered air) are fine for both the original Maverick EB and the refreshed EB. Both use the MAP to feed fuel correctly.

Not sure why the refresh has a MAF - but it does use the MAP for fuel delivery.

In fact - a BOV puts less stress on certain components of our Maverick EB’s. Here is how AI summarized when asked if a BOV could help the reliability of the Maverick EB’s turbo system:

Quote:
“ In short, yes—a good aftermarket BOV can ease pressure on the turbo’s shaft, bearings, and related components by providing quicker and more effective relief than the stock diverter valve, potentially improving longevity under aggressive use. It’s a popular, relatively simple mod for Maverick EcoBoost owners who want both the sound and some peace of mind on the turbo. ”
Unquote….

Can't wait
They offer 2 types of filters - “cotton cleanable” and “dry extendable”.

What are you going to choose? I’m not fond of either cleaning or extended use.

I’d replace instead of cleaning and replace before extending use….wonder which filter is less expensive? Which has better sound? Which has better airflow?

My priorities are sound, airflow, cost in that order…

I’m thinking out loud - not necessarily asking you:)

Don't worry. I go through these sorts of scenarios all the time. Same priorities for me. My credit card is standing by 😂
