I’ve been looking for a new truck for several months now. My current truck is a 2012 Toyata Tacoma and initially was looking at those and the Ford Ranger. I’m a Boomer and live in Hawaii so don’t drive a lot of miles and will soon retire so decided against the bigger more expensive Tacoma/Ranger.

After all the research, it was obvious the Maverick was the best fit. The tariffs made me finally pull the trigger so I went to the dealer ready to put in the order. That was Friday the 3rd. That’s when the salesman told me about the Employee pricing that just started. My order would have taken 3-6 months to fill so I wouldn’t have been eligible for the Employee discount but they had the exact truck with the exact options I wanted in transit and due in May. Making it eligible. Very fortunate for me so I put down the deposit on a 2025 2.5L Hybrid Lariat.

Some questions:

* Does the display have the ability to show the outside temperature?
* How’s the Bluetooth pairing and stability? In my wife’s Nissan Murano, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
* I read about some braking issues in earlier models. Has that been fixed?

Sorry for the newbie questions so thanks in advance!

My 2024 EcoBoost XLT shows outside temperature, so I assume a 2025 would as well.

I can't answer your other questions.

I took delivery of a 2025 XLT on March 10, so I've had it about a month.

* Does the display have the ability to show the outside temperature?

Yes. It's in the top right corner. Very easy to see.

* How’s the Bluetooth pairing and stability? In my wife’s Nissan Murano, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

I have a Samsung S22 Ultra - the pairing was easy, and it connects within seconds of turning on the truck. Seamless and easy. In the past month, I've only had one issue with Google maps (it froze) and I'm pretty sure it was the phone, not the truck.

* I read about some braking issues in earlier models. Has that been fixed?

Can't say anything about earlier models, but I've had zero issues with braking. The regenerative braking works very well.

Outside temp displayed on both 8 inch driver screen and 13.2” infotainment screen.

No issues with Bluetooth pairing for me. To use CarPlay wirelessly though you need to leave WiFi enabled on your phone.

I would the describe the brakes as, not linear. If you’re trying to maximize regen and slowly stopping they are perfectly fine minus the slightest pulse when friction brakes take over braking from
Regen.

I’ve found though that if I need to stop quickly (light changes, someone pulls out in front of me, etc) that the force required to brake in those situations is significantly more than I would expect it to be. It has taken a little getting used to when my Tremor had some really grabby brakes.
