Locking glove box?

I can't for the life of me figure out how to lock the glove box. Anyone know how too?

???? Does it even have a locking glove box?I haven't seen a locking glove box on a car in over 10 years. Something most car makers stopped doing years ago.

I was wondering about that also. No locks because I guess you can just rip the thing open with your bare hands. People now adays lock their cars. In the old days when most people were honest and cops locked you up for stealing, they left cars unlocked and windows rolled down to keep the car cool in the summer. The metal glove box was the only secure place to place your valuables.

I can't remember last time I saw a lock on a glove box. (Interesting how that name has lasted for decades despite gloves no longer a part of the driving "uniform"). Anyway, I'd be more interested in seeing a light in the box. I know there's a modern solution to be had ... a small motion sensing light should do it. Amazon, here I come.

Maverick is the first vehicle I've owned that didn't have a locking glove box.

Who cares? It's not like a cheap plastic lock and hinge would keep anyone out and lets face it the Maverick isn't exactly the type of vehicle you need to keep a valet from hot rodding by locking the non-valet key in the glove box.

Heck every lock on cars are just cheap wafer locks that are easy to pick, so someone could clean you out and you'd never know it.

Honestly made me think "wait, is there a lock on that?". I think the solution, if needed, would be that center console safe option.
