If you have an AWD Maverick turbo and commute in it hows your highway mileage?

Coming from a 2024 Lariat FWD hybrid, Im averaging 42-48mpg and Im seriously considering trading in on a 2026 Lobo if it comes in Orange Fury Metallic.

Im curious because the epa estimage is really low compared to my real world results. Wondering if the turbo might be higher as well commuting. Pic for attention

It really depends on average speed, traffic, and wind. Where I'm at the interstate is 75 mph so I'm doing >80 and if you have a 20+ mph headwind it's going to hit hard. However, I know from locals that if you drive a hybrid Maverick at 80+ low 30s mpg is common, so I'm guessing based on your 42-48 you have more than a little urban driving and you have slower highway speeds.

I get around 24 mpg a little north of 80 mph. This isn't a Lobo because they didn't have Lobos in 2022. It's tune on E30 93. I also have real all-terrain tires currently installed, that's probably 2+ mpg loss by themselves at interstate speeds.

I can still get near 30 mpg on rural 2 lane highways in low/no wind. I don't drive urban situations enough to bother tracking that mpg and I have autostop disabled.

When I’m driving and I do the speed limit which right now is 55 or 65 as high as50 miles per gallon bit if I bumped it upto 75/80 to accommodate the flow of trafficI get 35/36 but that’s when I leave late, early early in the morning there’s no traffic so it’s just cruise control. I don’t hot rod while commuting Basically just throw the cruise control on and ride into work probably 10 miles of my 85 miles one way is city and the rest is interstate

I'd plan on 30 mpg highway for a Lobo based on your conditions.

If you're just going for the look you could lower your current Maverick btw.

I really want the orange and being front wheel drive in a hybrid. The lowering spring choices are very limited and not being very harsh.

Not a LOBO but i have a 24 AWD. Doing 80ish I will get around 26-27. If I drop down to 72 I can break 30, usually around 32. This is the computer reading and not hand calculated.

I get around 24.8 - 25.9 mpg on my 2 x 40 mile Interstate commute in normal mode incl. 6 miles of stop & go traffic, I'm running 93. I tried eco mode once but there wasn't a noticeable difference.

I was drawn to the Maverick for the lowest open tailgate height making it easy for me to load my trike.

I then purchased the Lobo because the rear is lowered even more yay. The “performance” tweaks sealed the deal.

I’m retired, no commutes, and consider the Lobo my “weekend fun truck”. And every day is a “weekend” for this retired 69yr old bachelor:)

What mileage do I get? Well, I drive in Manual Mode using the paddle shifters only so I’m getting 18 - 19 mpg.

If you let the computer do the shifting in Normal or Eco - I would guess you’ll get high 20’s. Low 30’s?

My Lobo in Normal mode with regular commuter traffic averaging about 40 miles per day is getting exactly 25 mpg.

That would be a big MPG hit, especially where you have such a long commute. Maybe Ford will recognize a demand for a hybrid street style performance AWD. Remember, as the snow piles up, a lowered vehicle is not an asset, AWD or not.

Good point about lowered vehicles and tires

2024 Ecoboost AWD Lariat,
Level roads, interstate 75 mph 30 mpg
Mixed driving 55 mph country roads 31 mpg
All city 24 mpg
In my Appalachian mountains with some highway 27 mpg.
In all these conditions I use normal mode and I do not drive like grandma going to church.

Have never seen a single mpg gain in eco mode, only an engine that feels like it needs a tune up.

My Ecoboost feels and performs like the smaller V-8’s if the 70’s
Turbo’s Rawk :XD

I'm only on my third tank full of 87 and have almost 1000 miles on my LOBO. Average on this tank full is 28.4 mpg. Most of my driving is a mix of suburban and country. When country driving I almost never get into seventh gear. It usually shifts into 7th around 58 - 60 mph. Any sort of incline and it shifts to 6 th.
You really need to be on the expressway to make use of high gear and the mpg benefit
