Yesterday marked 6 months from my original order date. Long story short I expected to have my truck before 2022. That day has come and gone with my truck being in production for now two weeks with no updates. It is now becoming a big inconvenience only having one vehicle, but the dilemma is getting a new suv/truck is hard to come by now. Anyone in a similar spot needing a second car ASAP?

Can you borrow a vehicle from a friend or relative? When the line comes back up in early January your truck will likely be finished and delivered in early February. I would suggest a rental but that can get costly for 5 weeks or so.

P.S. - it will be 6 months for me on the 28th and mine is not even scheduled yet.

I wasn't in a big hurry, but my old 2005 developed some "issues" and with 155K miles I decided not to do any investment in it (leaking gas tank, all new brakes, original clutch, ...)

So my need for a 2nd vehicle accelerated.

I ended up finding and purchasing a 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands. I was able to buy it at MSRP and for fun did a vroom estimate on it - they are offering me about 2K over MSRP plus what I paid in taxes, registration, etc.

If I had the Hybrid Maverick, I would decide on which I rather have and sell the other. But I don't have the Maverick as my production date is estimated week of 1/23. When it does get produced, I will go through a similar decision process based on market conditions at that time. If I had to guess, I would think that things should still be "tight" in terms of 22 Hybrid Mavericks and maybe even Bronco Sports. But who knows.

In my case the tracker was still saying in production days after I had already received my built and then my shipped emails from Ford. Just saying that in production may or may not be correct. BTW, my truck arrived at the dealer today, and I will be picking up Thursday ( they had 30 vehicles show up, so they're backlogged)!

Fortunately I am not in a hurry. My only worry is that something will happen to my car and kill the trade value.

Exactly my situation. I don't commute far to work so my 2018 Escape has 31K and change. NO DOOR DINGS so far (Knock on wood). I had just dropped $800 on new OEM factory wheels in November and wasn't planning on getting another car until I saw the Maverick parked outside went I was leaving. Be just my luck if someone door dings me or runs into me and screws up my trade in value, which was way more than I was expecting to get.

"no door dings" I wish. We moved our business to a strip mall setting and I got two MONSTER dings in the first week. Now I have to park at the far end of the lot and still the idiots insist on parking right next to me.

Just saw an alto blue bronco sport badlands on my dealers website in stock. How have you liked the bronco sport so far? Msrp is around 35k so a little more than my maverick.

The solution is simple, get a cheap beater to hold you over till the Maverick comes. And by cheap beater, I mean it. If it's got wheels, runs and drives for under $5k, go for it. 😁

I should probably be in Guiness book of records .... "Owner owns car for 41 months and doesn't have a single door ding" ..... Believe it or not!

My concern is my Genesis will crap out and I'll have to exhaust my down payment funds and that means having to finance more which is not ideal.

So far so good. When I first drove it, I noticed more road noise than my F150. But as time as gone on, it has grown on me, and is a lot easier to park! :) There is no question my F150 is much more "substantial" in many ways, but it would also be 55-60K sticker in this crazy environment.

It's great having Apple car play (first non rental where I've had it) and Sync 3 seems to be a good upgrade from my Sync 2 system. The Cyber Orange gets a lot of attention.

Having the front camera (only works at slow speed and only in the Badlands) is surprisingly useful for parking.

While I haven't drive a Maverick yet, I think the Maverick is likely a better value but the Bronco Sport perhaps more fun (I would only consider the Badlands) especially if one is going to do off-road.
