Hopefully this one has a later build date and better stickum.
My stepson just got the roof spoiler and it came with a tube of black sealant beyond the tape. but in any case some adhesion promoter couldn't hurt. I poked him for getting a freeway frisbee.Hopefully this one has a later build date and better stickum.
Ehh, I put mine on with that method, its good 3M tape and good windshield glue that is designed to stick to metal, glass, and plastic surfaces. I've been driving around for over two years and mine is still rock solid. I check it ever 3-4 months when I think about it and it still doesn't budge. If he installed it correctly he should be fine.My stepson just got the roof spoiler and it came with a tube of black sealant beyond the tape. but in any case some adhesion promoter couldn't hurt. Thanks for the advice! It's all in the prep of the surface you're installing to. I've installed hundreds of body kits ,scoops ,spoilers etc. I installed after painting my spoiler and hood scoop and haven't had any problems. Still stuck like the day I installed them. Clean the surface with a good wax and grease remover. I use ppg dx330 and then 320. Use 3m adhesion promoter. Apply the sealant provided. Used quite a bit. Making sure not to go over the tape. You don't want any squeezing out. Mines seen the speed limiter a few times. Btw the scoop is NOT ready for paint
Don't just scuff and squirt it. It will need body any primer to make it look OE. Good luck and don't be skeered.
