So...

Having had both....

The Hybrid Maverick is remarkably similar to the 2005 Hybrid Escape.

There have been three "revisions" since 2005. But remarkably, like 95% the same powertrain.

The original, which was first hybrid built on USA soil cost $36,000 in 2005 dollars. And gas was like $1.63.

The revisions have made the vehicle lower cost, and some components lighter weight. But actual changes you can count on 2 hands.

ALMOST the same transmission.
ALMOST the same battery power.
ALMOST the same motor power.
ALMOST the same engine power.
More modern technology.
More EV mode drivability.
Higher speed EV mode.
Maverick is more efficient.
Maverick does more with less.
But not much more.

The difference boils down to:
23% more power output than a 2005 Hybrid Escape at coincidently, about 23% lower cost than a 2005 hybrid Escape.

What else has gone DOWN in price in 18 years? Maybe LED TV's.

Driving Maverick is like driving an old friend.
Had the 05 Escape until 2019 when it got rear ended with over 235,000miles. Was still running great on original everything just about.

I got my Maverick Hybrid 12/15/21 after ordering it in September 2021. Retired but drive it almost everyday. Now with 13k miles and long trip vacation this summer of 1500+ miles. Not 1 problem. Only do the recall stuff when I felt like calling the dealership and they get me in. I got air bag earlier this year. I got the cable and they added the emissions recall to the order and both were done today just because I could and should in my mind. Love my truck. It's worth about what I paid for 2 years ago so why would I be concerned with some recalls. If my motor had the bad crankshaft, I think it would have exploded by now.

Maverick is my 105th vehicle (bikes and cars). I know what crap cars are new or used. Good Ford Examples for me are used Sport Trac I kept 12 years. Nice truck but sucked gas but was super reliable. New 2004 Mustang Cobra, not one problem in 12 years (last of the fox body so not a new model).

Wow. You have bought 105 vehicles.

You and Jay Leno have done that.

I've bought 105..... 105..... 105..... I don't know. Maybe light bulbs? 💡

Still waiting some diagnosis of OP's problem. Not going to speculate, but am wondering as this is the third day at the dealer. How about an update?

Holy cow, that's a lot of vehicles man! If you don't mind my asking, are you 238 years old? 😉
Just after high school (1967) I bought a 58 Chevy Belair 2 door, 348 engine, metalflake blue with white top and blue and white tuck and roll upholstery early on a Saturday. I replaced the leaking power steering pump. Took about an hour. Had all of 170 dollars in the car. Drove it to work that night and a fellow worker begged me to take 300 for it. I did. So, you see that car did not take many moments out of my 75 years on this planet. My step dad was a logger, driving truck before I started 5th grade. I grew up around equipment.

Some vehicles I actually kept for quite awhile. My 2002 Sport track I kept 12 years. My New 2004 supercharged Mustang Cobra I kept for 12 years. My 1989 Volvo 240 Wagon I kept 11 years till my wife took in a divorce. I bought it back 2 years later and double my money. LOL

Sometimes timing and effort is everything.

Oh I’m still waiting for a diagnosis. They brought in an electronic tech and then he got diagnosed with covid. So that was great timing.
