My apologies if this topic has been discussed to oblivion, I'm simply curious on whether anyone has tried the leer tonneau cover on the maverick. Otherwise I'm open to advice on whether it's worth while to drop money on a premium hard tonneau or is it better to get a less expensive one and add extra gasket material to weatherproof it more.
Thanks!
Also, have only have my '24 Lariat Hybrid for a few days and am loving it!

I read about people's complaints that the cheaper tonneau covers leak (granted, all do), and hopefully some of this was fixable with extra gasket material, etc...

Look, I'm not keeping electronics, cotton candy or dry coffee ground in my truck bed. So, if it gets a little wet from a passive leak, that's ok. I bought a cheap hard tonneau cover off of eBay for less than$350. We got an inch of rain the other day and I took it through the car wash today. Perhaps, I am the pariah, but I didn't have any leaks.

All hard trifold or quad fold do leak. One of the main reason is a size.... 4.4ft. I would suggest to have 4.6ft. Other reason the leak is a rubber. Not the gasket... But a part that connects all foldable peaces together. Before I submitted a warranty claim I recorded a video with garden hose spraying on on top. It was more like a curtain shower in 4 places 4 feet long. Replaced that cover with on other one... AND HAD A SAME ISSUE. Unfortunately I realized that all high brand names are made by the same company.

I like A.R.E products and currently have the hard tri-fold Fusion version. The cover matches my Area 51 body color and so far even with Northeast Ohio weather has remained weather resistant. The most important thing is who is installing the cover and I have been very fortunate to have a great installer.

One big issue is seal near the cab. Traditional truck have a gap between the bed and cab, water has an easy place to go. On our Mavs there is no gap and either we seal it up tight an water sits till it evaporates or leaks into the bed(not ideal). Also the 3/8 gap on the plastic bed rails.

I have a LOWMAX Tonneau cover on my 2022 very happy with it, yes it leaks a little, but no floods. They told me at WEATHER TECH, one of their tonneau covers is made by them. I’m luck to have a WEATHER TECH store close to where I live in Colorado.

If you want the Hard Tri-Fold design, but have concerns about water leaks eventually coming thru the Folding Hinges over time, you might look at the TonnoPro Hard Tri-Fold. It is completely covered with a heavy gauge vinyl, over the Aluminum panels. So it is a Hard Tri-Fold that looks like a soft Tri-Fold. The disadvantage is that it does not fold up against the back of the truck. But for me, having more security for my items in the truck-bed and keeping them as dry as possible, is more important than the fold away option. I have the cover, and it is waiting to be installed, just as soon as my MY24 Maverick arrives in a few weeks. Good luck.

Thanks everybody for the feedback, I'm still going down the rabbit hole for tonneau covers but this definitely helped eliminate some contenders. Just moved so the maverick came in handy and reiterated the need to have a cover mostly for security. I'll keep looking for more feedback as it trickles in on this thread while I gather funds. The maverick is damn near perfect for my needs and comfy to boot, so far it still makes me excited to drive it every time.

I purchased a
Lund Hard Tri-Fold Hard Folding Truck Bed Tonneau Cover from Amazon. I paid a little over 500. It now cost over 600. It has a vinyl cover on it. Leaks very little it a car wash.
