This box was waiting for me on Wednesday. The folding soft cover had arrived.

What was in the box. The box was a bit larger than needed, and not much packing, but everything was in good shape.

It was an easy install. Just the mounting bracket clamp and the break away strap clamp.

The cover in place, but not clamped down.

It looks good, time will tell how well it lasts.

I added d rings to the upper empty mounting holes on the XL trim. I had to tap out the holes as there were no threads. Simple to install, and does not interfere with the covers rear clamp.

Last upgrade is the lettering on the tailgate.

Not sure what is next!

With the cover on I wanted to add a board to hold cargo. I cut the board a little short, 54 3/8 rather than 54 1/2 as I wanted to add some protection to the ends of the board, which I forgot to buy, so used some towels for testing. I will add some thick flannel from the craft store soon. I also put on some hooks to secure a tote to the front of the board to keep the back clear.

This is a little scary but, I have exactly the same Gator tonneau, exactly the same InstaCrate and did exactly the same thing with shop rags on my divider haha Love the hook ideas on the board and was trying to come up with something similar.

I did the same kind of thing with the ends of the boards I used on my F-150. I used a double layer of Dip and Grip to coat the ends for protection. Your hooks are a nice touch too.

I also forgot to get the paint for the board. It will be that black coating spray on, but I forget the name.

Got the same Gator Tri-Fold and I am impressed with it for the price.

Just a word of caution: If you later plan to add a sprayed in bed liner later it will change/shorten 2x6 length about 1/4th an inch. IF YOU get a bedliner be sure to plug any pre-drilled bed holes with your bolt or golf tee to keep bedliner holes free from bedliner material...it is a nightmare to get a bolt into a filled up pre-drilled hole, it hardens in a matter of an hour.

I use old black rachet straps nailed to the end of the 2x6's. Nailing them to each end with 2 roofing nails lets you add or shorten the length.

The coating didn't mix very well, but did seal the board. I used a 2X8.
