  1. Does tailgate lock on the XL or XLT?

You have the same Maverick package that I have. The key lock has worked since I tested it at the dealership. It might be a manufacturing defect. I do have the co-pilot 360, but I thought the locking tailgate was standard.
  2. My old truck tows better than may new truck

I was curious what the "old" truck was going to look like. I had a nice laugh, thanks!
  3. Why Is The Maverick So Cool? My Take.

I think my Maverick is a cool truck. I buy for utility not flash, a vehicle is for transportation, not for showing off. None the less, I am very happy that the Maverick is flashy, and, to me, a very cool ride.
  4. Building a light utility trailer.

Got the paint on, and the first real load since I got it done, finally, except maybe some tie down loops on the side.
  5. Building a light utility trailer.

After Fed-Ex "delivered" my fenders, somewhere out there, I had to get a refund from Amyzon and found the exact same ones on E-Bay with free shipping. Arrived in two days, but due to some things I didn't get to them for a couple weeks. Finally got them installed.
  6. I noticed this.

For 15 years I drove a 2005 Excursion. Yes it was a pain in most parking lots, but I left it stock ride and it was solid and felt tight to the road. Several times I was forced to make sudden maneuvers to avoid morons and the Excursion handled like a sports car. I had a push bar on the front that...
  7. Seats uncomfortable?

I'm 5' 10 1/2" or so, with a 35" inseem, so long legs. I'm used to short seats so had not noticed any difference from other cars. I think the seats are comfortable when adjusted properly. Longest trip was 2 hours on the road and no problems.
  8. Why are you buying yours?

I've always liked small trucks, and the price for a Ranger was a bit too much.
  9. Building a light utility trailer.

I had intended to show the completed trailer by now, but Fed-Ex delivered the fenders I ordered a week ago, and used the invisible box method. I was in the yard working when they say they dropped off the box, but no! Still waiting for a response. I got the deck installed, and 2X8's were less...
  10. Latest add ons, cover, d-rings and tailgate letters.

The coating didn't mix very well, but did seal the board. I used a 2X8.
  11. Latest add ons, cover, d-rings and tailgate letters.

The divider board has been upgraded. I used a spray on gray plastic coating and put on new hooks. These are a little larger than needed, but I wanted a strong hook. From Amazon: Amazon.com: SAYAYO 6 PCS Pad Eye Plate Hooks U Ceiling Hook for Hanging Plants Outdoor Lights Swing Suspension...
  12. Latest add ons, cover, d-rings and tailgate letters.

I also forgot to get the paint for the board. It will be that black coating spray on, but I forget the name.
  13. Latest add ons, cover, d-rings and tailgate letters.

    Great minds think alike!
  14. Latest add ons, cover, d-rings and tailgate letters.

With the cover on I wanted to add a board to hold cargo. I cut the board a little short, 54 3/8 rather than 54 1/2 as I wanted to add some protection to the ends of the board, which I forgot to buy, so used some towels for testing. I will add some thick flannel from the craft store soon. I also...
  15. Latest add ons, cover, d-rings and tailgate letters.

I added d rings to the upper empty mounting holes on the XL trim. I had to tap out the holes as there were no threads. Simple to install, and does not interfere with the covers rear clamp. Last upgrade is the lettering on the tailgate. Not sure what is next!
  16. Latest add ons, cover, d-rings and tailgate letters.

What was in the box. The box was a bit larger than needed, and not much packing, but everything was in good shape. It was an easy install. Just the mounting bracket clamp and the break away strap clamp. The cover in place, but not clamped down. It looks good, time will tell how well it lasts.
  17. Latest add ons, cover, d-rings and tailgate letters.

This box was waiting for me on Wednesday. The folding soft cover had arrived.
  18. Why I went with XL Poverty Edition

Are you a member of the DNA? The National Dyslexic Association!
  19. So close, but so far away.... how long do the trucks sit in the railyard?

Mine was at the yard for seven or eight days waiting for transport to the dealer.
  20. Why I went with XL Poverty Edition

I went XL for the price, and I didn't like the XLT interior. Still ended up getting the 2.0 to get the 4k tow, which morphed into the AWD. I out on some wheels, and I just got a folding cover, and have a few little things to put on.
