Does your local glass shop offer a lifetime warranty on the glass that was replaced as long as you own your vehicle?
That's on defects and workmanship...not if the glass is damaged. Important distinction.

I recently had my 24 XLT get a stone chip in the lower drivers corner The next 50 degree day it split about 12 inches while i was driving . Safelite is the preferred provider for Citizens among several other local shops . I had to get approval for Ford brand glass , which only took an hour . With the approval , I had no deductible .. Same goes for the use of a preferred provider. The deductible would have been $100 otherwise . They actually did a really nice job . Second time that I have used them in a year and both came out near perfect . I've seen botch jobs (leaks) and heard some Safelite horror stories , but not on my vehicles .

there is a defrost icon on the glass in the lower driver's side if you have the 22-23 lariat lux oem windshield.

I know for sure because I had it, then had a 3rd party replacement without it (Fuyao), and 2 weeks ago I have windshield #3 which is an OEM unit with the 'soundscreen' logo in the lower passenger side and the defrost icon I mentioned above on the driver's side.

like NJBob, I also have no specific feedback as to whether it works. why? I rarely park outdoors and have snowfall on it. and then, even if you do, if you start the truck with Fordpass and have the climate set to auto, the regular defroster will definitely clear the lower windshield where the heating element is located.

I personally think they removed this feature for MY24 because it didn't make a difference.
I was really counting on this feature, and was disappointed that they removed it before I ordered my truck. Where I live, snow and ice accumulate on the wipers while driving, so I was hoping the heated park area would help with that. I have even considered asking Ford if they can replace mine with the heated version. The acoustic glass would also be a nice benefit!

according to your profile, you have an XLT (I assume lux).

there's several things required to make this work and I think it's possible that a '24 Lariat could do it, but unfortunately, no I don't see it getting bolted-on to an XLT.

it takes:
  1. windshield with heating elements where the wipers park. (linked here, and someone actually said they have a 3rd party / non-Ford windshield with the element, but they didn't provide a link to it.)
  2. wiring at the base of the windshield and a module to control it. (I would not be surprised if a '24 Lariat is missing both of these)
  3. BCM configuration to control it. (I bet this is in Forscan.)

if a person has a '24 Lariat and they want to try a Ford heated windshield, they would then have to configure it in Forscan. but I personally would guess the wiring and module aren't there, because if Ford cut the feature to save money, surely they would cut the whole thing and not just use the slightly cheaper windshield without the heated wire element.

Pre-collision assist, which all Mavericks have, must have that camera to operate.
actually, I think that the camera is ā€˜behind’ the windshield rather than part of it…

That's correct, and I think that's what the OP was trying to say. It is mounted above the rear view mirror.

Keep in mind that being an "OEM glass supplier" could mean they make a mirror for a certain model or something like that. Carlex is who makes Ford's windshields.

https://www.carlex.com/
Fuyao and Carlex are both major OEM glass suppliers for windshields (along with other exterior glass) and supply OEM glass directly to Ford on various vehicles. But neither manufacturers the OE glass for the Maverick.

Saint Gobain - Sekurit is the supplier of the Maverick windshield. It's says right in the trademark in the glass, along with the DOT code for their plant in Mexico, DOT 1103.

When I drove back to my home in Florida from Buffalo, NY, I was caught in a lake effect wind and thunderstorm along the Thruway (90). I made it home and noticed my windshield was pitted from blowing sand, some hail, and other stuff. Luckily, my paint wasn’t affected.
I filed a claim with my insurance company, Allstate, and just had my windshield replaced this morning at Safelite.
A few things I didn’t know about my Maverick:
1. The windshield is heated and so are the side mirrors.
2. The windshield has a solar panel in it.
3. There’s a camera in it above the rear view mirror in that panel.

I never knew I had those things included.
Was it a OEM windshield ? My lariat has soundscreen
