First of all you didn't provide a link. Second of all, it's essentially a charge and probably a publicity stunt for an attorney general up for re-election. Come back at me when they are actually convicted of deceptive price practices and made to pay a fine. Like I said, it's referred to as MSRP for a reason and all of the dealers at least local to me are advertising their ADM on their site. The fact of the matter is that people are more than willing to pay seemingly up to a 10k ADM on a new Maverick. Go hire a lawyer and sue.
I think FakeCowboy might be a shady Ford Dealer?

Just wondering, since we are still technically in a "state of emergency" because of COVID, wouldn't that be considered price gouging and subject to fines and possibly jail time? Not taking either side of this debate but just wondering....
I read that only applies to subsistence staples like bottled water, batteries, generators etc, used to survive & recover from a huge disaster like tornadoes, wildfires, etc. where people lose their homes and are displaced and desperate for survival goods.

How many people have to have a new car to survive a pandemic?
well, there's lots of statistics showing during the lockdown people greatly increased their on-line purchasing. Pretty sure cars could be bought that way. I was tempted to use my mad money hidden in the kitchen cookie jar and splurge for that C-8 Corvette I was ogling

Your not smart enough to look it up? My maverick is in my driveway. I don’t need to sue. I didn’t pay more than MSRP. Dealer tried price increase while vehicle was in transit to dealership with additional fees and costs to the tune of thousands of dollars. He told me he wouldn’t remove charges and I could walk away or pay “market price” I didn’t have to walk away. I provided proof what he was doing was illegal and in violation with documents provided by Dept of Motor Vehicles and Dept of Consumer protection. Manager removed bogus charges immediately and my vehicle was in my driveway the next day.
And these "documents" are what? You called his bluff, good for you, that doesn't make charging high ADMs or "additional fees" illegal as long as they are not hidden (although it may make those paying them idiots).

I'm a scumbag too because if I don't like my Mav I'm gonna sell it to Carmax for 10k over.
Also convenience stores are scumbags for charging me 2$ more on a gallon of milk if I cant be fucked to drive into town.

Good luck talking sense into the "price gouging" fools. Dude is going to come around here saying it's his "RIGHT" to buy a Ford Maverick at MSRP because he "needs" it.

All depends on the state you live in. for example My state has an agreement each dealer signs regarding glass ETCH. Each dealer has to provide an annual statement to DMV regarding offering service and price charged. If the dealer does it to all vehicles it sells buyer can still decline it and dealer must remove from invoice and buyer cannot be charged even if it has been completed. Look at the court case filings against Ford Motor Company and your dealership which are usually available for the last 10 years on your State website. You will see some very interesting cases. One that came to my attention was a small claims court ruling a dealer had to reimburse buyer for Additional Dealer Markup that was not included on original DORA and Marketing material from Ford and original quote by dealer but charged at time of pickup. Buyer was awarded reimbursement of ADM, sales tax and court costs, fees and postage. There were some interesting cases ones regarding warranties and service repairs not authorized. You can represent yourselves in small claims court without an attorney and judges don’t expect you to have legal expertise, but your max claim is $5000. My state also has a dealer complaint line for issues buyers are experiencing and they give you advise and guidance.

The Guy Fawkes mask has now become a common brand and a convenient placard to use in protest against tyranny – and I'm happy with people using it, it seems quite unique, an icon of popular culture being used this way. Anonymous groups needed an all-purpose image to hide their identity and FakeCowboy needs to hide his identity

Do you have that in writing? From Carmax? Don't be fooled by what they are asking for Mavericks they have for sale. They are not paying close to that.

Some people fight actual tyranny, others cry because their feelings got hurt over dealers charging more than MSRP.
