My truck was ordered at MSRP ,so I have nothing to complain about . But I would add this to the conversation . Three years ago in my part of the country you could purchase a new F150 for 10 15 or even 17 thousand off list price . I purchased a new 2019 F250 52 ,000 list for 42,000 . Nobody was complaining about the beating the dealers or Ford were taking . Like they say paybacks a bitch .I should add ,I have not received my Maverick yet !
Dealers taking a beating? Highly unlikely. Here's why:

1. New car sales are only a fraction of the profit at a dealership.
2. The real money is in dealer added options, ESPs, warranties, financing, parts and service.
3. Invoice means nothing. That's not how much the dealer buys the vehicles for.
4. The faster a vehicle sells, the less the dealer is paying in floor plan (interest on their loan).
5. Sales personnel costs are never a factor. Business slow? Easy fix. Fire some sales people.

Greed is all it is. The dealers aren't paying anything extra to get the trucks son is purely Greed in their part to raise the price. Ford should get involved and take a stand against it.
So we've had people here offering a $1,000 finder's fee for a Maverick selling at MSRP. I would guess that some people are actively calling dealers and offering to pay above MSRP considering how many people are clamoring for one of these. Why is it greed? No, dealers are not paying more to get the truck but they do have less to sell on their lot, I drive by dealers every day where I live and except for used cars the lot is void of anything new except what most people don't want. If something like the Maverick is in high demand and people are willing to pay a premium over MSRP, does that really make the dealer all that bad? Shouldn't you be hating on the people who are more than willing to pay above MSRP? If nobody was willing to pay above MSRP then the demand wouldn't be there and dealers would be forced to ask less but something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it and people are more than willing to pay for it.

Just because something doesn't work in YOUR favor doesn't mean it's inherently bad.

The value of anything is the price that someone is willing to pay. That is the fundamental definition of something is worth.

Plenty of cars to buy on the lot at MSRP or even at a discount. Like I said, you don't NEED a Maverick. This is the equivalent to saying you broke your phone and need a new one but despite the fact that you can go out and buy a brand new decent smart phone outright for under $200 you MUST HAVE the latest and greatest iPhone just after it's been released when everyone wants one. The only scumbag is the person who DEMANDS that dealers sell at the SUGGESTED price when there are other vehicle options to purchase at or even below cost.

Why are people so entitled?
If you actually took the time to read this post. I wasn’t demanding shit. They called me and offered it to me for $5k over, I agreed to it. Was getting in my car to drive there and then 3 other salesman called me driving up the price to $15k over msrp. They can go f&ck themselves and they are scumbags.

There's a difference in making a living, and making a killing.
As a employee of a small, but profitable, business. I know I couldn't justify and live with myself, charging 2-5x more for something, like those folks down the street

First of all I wasn't directly replying to you but you took what I said to someone else personally. And I've said it on these forums countless times, if you don't make the sale before going over there and have a dual party signed copy of a purchase and sales agreement at your "agreed upon price" don't bother going, verbal deals don't mean squat with car shopping, not in this market and not on a Maverick and they're just trying to get you to the dealership.........but nobody listens and nobody cares about your wasted time, the salesmen don't. You want one of the hottest vehicles on the market right now and it's sold out, so many people want one. The 2 days I got to drive a Maverick I had a ton of people ask me about it and disappointed to hear they stopped taking orders. How many of those people are clamoring to buy a Maverick? How many are willing to pay 5k, 10k over?

Like I said, the sense of entitlement is so bewildering to me. I ordered a Maverick for my business, I would love to replace my aging Subaru with a Bronco. I called around and every dealer wanted anywhere from 10k to 20k over MSRP for a Bronco, did I cry and wail and whine? No. Pretty reasonable to expect that given the fact that one dealer told me they had a standby list of over 70 people waiting for a dealer stock Bronco. How many of them will pay whatever ADM to have the latest and greatest? I wound up placing an order for one at MSRP and was told expect 2 years. Oh well, such is the price I have to pay for wanting something everyone else does.

I had signed paperwork for one I ordered for MSRP and waited 6 months for. That didn’t mean crap when they called me the day before arrival and threw on a $7,500 markup so good luck on your Bronco. Contacted two attorneys who said it happens nonstop and there’s nothing that can be done. I can sue them in civil suit based on bad business but it won’t go anywhere. “Legally binding” contracts mean nothing in this “Scumbag” drive industry.

For the folks in Virginia., I can’t recommend Berglund Ford in Salem enough. These guys are awesome and sold me a stock XLT FX4 at MSRP. When I got there to get it the plates were already on the truck and I was out of there in no time without them trying to up sell me on anything. Small dealership so not a ton of stock but they are definitely worth checking out.

I’ve called them before and I’m on their waitlist if one comes in. Seem like nice folks.

Caviler Ford, 100% happened. Call them and ask about it. They did it to everyone who ordered Broncos and Mach-Es as well.
