Difference in ford and aftermarket key fob

Will the aftermarket key fobs work as well as the oem Ford version?is the chip in them the same as ford uses and will they hold up as good as the ford version.any recommendations on which one to buy for xlt that doesnt have remote start?

I'm not well versed in them, but from what I understand you will need to go to a locksmith or the dealer since they will have to be cut and programmed to work with your vehicle. Think it takes a certain style machine to cut the key. Maybe someone will have a better answer. Happy New Year!
