Does anyone have experience with Kelly tires? My Continentals are at their end so I’m getting four Kelly Tires, oil change, and three most recent software recalls done at the dealer on Monday.
I have the 225/60/r18 Michelin primacy with 28k miles about 4k more possible. Oems came with 8/32 tread rated for 45k miles. Since almost every tire made is running reformulated compounds since covid including Michelin defenders. I am looking around and believe my choice to try will be Continental TRUE CONTACT TOUR in 235/60/R18 size. They do weigh about 3lbs or so more but are rated 103H and have 29.1" instead of 28.6" diameter. The 235 is rated 51 psi max instead of 44 psi max like the 225/60/18 so better sidewalls. The tread has heat reacting polymers in compound and comes with 11/32 tread rated 800-A-A, 80k mile tread expectation. The 225/60/r18 are about $179 and 235/60/r18 are about $205. Talked to tech during remote update yesterday and he said he thought if planning on keeping truck the ESP was probably a good idea and also said that many people are having vehicles repaired using insurance due to the higher prices of repairs so we will have higher premiums on our policies soon.

I’m going on a 1,000 mile round trip vacation next weekend, I’m almost at the end of the oil life, and I need the recalls so I wanted to get it all done on Monday. I’m not super concerned about price. I just want trusted service and this dealer has taken care of me so far.
hwy miles are super easy on the engine/oil
I'd put it off until after, but I'm one who always is concerned about price, even if I don't need to be lol

She still runs good!!
I hope the bumps in the road we call marriage has not caused her to get out of line. May need a realignment, if you have the proper equipment......;)

I was in fleet maintenance business for 20 years, Kelly makes a decent tire. I'm partial to Michelin. More expensive but well worth it.

I always go to tire rack to get an opinion on tire reviews.
Recently did a tire/wheel package and went with Continental Cross Contact ATR-as I wanted a square shoulder truck looking tire. Happy so far and seem much quieter than stock Conti's.

RE: Kelly Tires, no experience or knowledge to answer your question. However, comparison shop for tires like you would for anything else.

Personally, for driving on mostly paved roads, I am partial to Michelin. Their quality control is excellent. The air bladder that seals the tire to the rim is excellent. They ride quietly pretty much for the life of the tire.

I see you are in CA. We have lots of choices and some do free rotation for the life of the tires. I don 't think the dealer rotates for free which should be done every 5k miles. The names like Discount, were mentioned above. Add Costco. I'm not sure if Northern CA has Les Schwab like OR and WA.

Most have online calculators which makes comparison shopping easy.

Weights: Most will slap lead weights to the outside of the rim. I always request "tape weights" which they put on the inside of the wheel where they can't be seen. I have never been charged extra. Tape weights look better and can't be knocked off if you [Edit: your wife] hits the curb when parking.

My best experience had been with Michelin, I have never had Kelly tires so I can't comment on them.

I had a couple of sets abut 10 - 20 years ago. I liked them. Lasted about as long as any tire I had on that vehicle. I kept it for a long time and went through several sets of tires.

I work in service at a dealership, and myself, I would not recommend the Kelly's. Lots of customer complaints (wear, noise)

Has anyone looked at Ford's offers? A set of four have 22k Pass points or a $100 mail in rebate. Military and first responders get $80. I wonder if I can stack offers and save $45 per tire.

Just another vote in the NO column for Kelly tires. From me at least.

I had a set on a previous car that, frankly, caused an accident due to their lack of traction and they were not old or worn in any significant way.

Quality tires are cheap insurance.
