3 months and not even 1000 miles!!!!
Glad you are ok, although banged up. Don’t know how fast the guy was going when he hit you, but the truck looks to have done its work and protected you. Did the air bags work? What else happened if you don’t mind my asking. Is the truck repairable or a total wreck? Will Ford do anything to help a person like you? Maybe too many questions. If so, sorry.

Sorry, OP. That blows. Glad you sustained only minor injuries. I’ve noticed an increase in aggressive drivers in Florida lately. Almost struck twice recently by people cutting us off and driving into our lane doing 90mph. Many drivers out there have no license or suspended and no insurance. It’s why car insurance is through the roof for even safe drivers.
This right here!

Was coming back from lunch the other day and took a side street back to work. While waiting at a stop light (which you CAN make a right turn on) this impatient bee-yotch comes up behind me and starts laying on her horn. There was traffic coming from my left, and someone else coming through the crosswalk that she couldn't see because there was a Ford Expedition in the left turn lane beside me. I threw up my hands at her in the rearview mirror. Where exactly do you want me to go?!

It's the tailgating that kills me. Why do people do this? One wrong move and you could be sitting in the passenger seat in the car in front of you.

Ford, if you're going to add any "extras" to the Maverick, I want front and rear flame throwers for my next purchase.

It's a problem all over the country . Good thing you didn't get injured.
Yes I am thankful he did not hit me square on the door or would have been in the hospital or worse. I'm still pretty banged up though on my left side. He spun the truck 180 degrees and police estimate from the video he was going 45 mph and no skid marks. If I was not in an office position I would be out of work. There has to be greater consequences for people who circumvent our laws. Yeah, they wrote him tickets but you think he'll pay??? They could not even verify who he was. He had a foreign license and that's it. Why can ANYONE operate a vehicle in another country without first taking a driving proficiency AND exam that tests the rules of the road in said country including understanding signage. Yes, could he even read signs that display WRONG WAY or YIELD or DO NOT ENTER? He certainly could not understand or speak those phrases. He said he lived in another state and was driving a vehicle registered in PA to another person, with a foreign name (and no I'm not knocking foreigners who comply with our laws) but does not know the owner??? Seriously? My point and frustration, 1. He should have NEVER been in the road 2. He blatantly lied about having the right-of-way (thank you dash cam!) 3. He destroyed my truck and injured me while illegally and negligently operating a 3500 pound projectile, 4. And lastly, face zero consequences! Ironically, if I was the striking vehicle in a similar incident, he would be in easy street! I'm just extremely frustrated with doing the right thing all my life and seeing practically no benefit compared to people who could care less about anything. Ugh. Sorry for the rant.

No license, no insurance, no idea who owns the vehicle the operator of the striking vehicle was operating, and not a spoken word of English...

Blew through a steady read signal after it was red for approximately 10 seconds (verified by my dash cam) and had the balls to tell my insurance he had a yellow light. Quickly refuted with video. Waited almost 1.5 years for the truck and now this...Uggggggggh. Got banged up pretty good too but no hospital.

Yep... Happens way too often. I had a Subaru WRX before this truck. Nearly the same situation. I was sitting at a light and a car ploughed into the back of me. Not her car. No license. No English. Totaled my car. She skipped back across the border. I was fortunate that my wife and I didn't get hurt. My insurance covered the cost of the car. I stumbled into a Maverick that buyer changed his mind. I'm very happy with the truck. It is a shame yours go hit. As a side note. One week after I got my truck I was in line at a fast food place and a lady rolled up and tapped my bumper. Not enough to even make a mark. I almost lost it with her when she said she has been having trouble with her brakes. I "politely" told her to get them fixed before she kills somebody. I now have a bumper step I have added to my truck. There are definitely people out there driving that shouldn't be.

So glad you’re mostly ok! Your Maverick looks pretty unhappy 😢 These days I rarely hit my gas pedal when the light turns green because there’s always someone who pushes the yellow envelope or down here they think red means hit the gas😖 I hope this gets resolved to your benefit and you find another Maverick🤞🏻 I never consid a dash cam but now I might.

I've looked at a few of these accident photos . Is it me or do the body panels look awfully thin. I mean that front fender looks like it could've been stamped from soffit coil.

That is really really sad. Dang, after all that waiting and then that happens to you.

Maybe even sadder, based on your first sentence, it wouldn't surprise me if this doesn't start happening more often based on the track record of our country's immigration nightmare going on for a while now at our boarders. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against immigration, heck our country was built a large part by it, let them come, when following the legal process for it. But all this opening the flood gates and free everything is insanity, IMO
They are incentivized to stay out of the system instead of working within it. Look for "uninsured and underinsured" coverage to skyrocket.

I'm not an auto body guy, but in my opinion, they are thin, but so are most cars today. I wish the Maverick was more "truck" like in that the sheet metal was thicker, but in reality, the vehicle is basically a Focus/Escape with a bed. Oh, one more thing to note: police estimate from pole cam video he was going about 45 mph. That intersection is bad with a blind spot because, from riding a motorcycle, I drive/ride defensively yet, had I been even MORE defensive, that maybe this could have been avoided. Being in the right means little when you still have to deal with the sustained damages. So, after 30 years of riding, that's done. Not worth the risk anymore. So, back to the important thing: not one air bag deployed. That's odd.

If it's only temporary, the Escapes/Bronco's use the same platform - that would at least get you something "familiar" assuming you can even get one of those. No bed either, so not sure if that's something you can live without temporarily.

Honestly, I'd buy something cheap then place another order - or browse Edmunds (CarMax) for something used with basically zero mileage.
dealers around me have a lot full of Broncos and Escapes

Gutted for you man! Feel better soon. Hopefully they throw the entire book at the person who hit you. Those circumstances you described are absolutely unacceptable. That person should never have been on the road.

This stuff has been around for decades. Not new at all.
The solution and discussion of it are NOT welcome here. As it should be.

With the values of Mavericks where it is currently.....that Maverick may be repairable. Looks like the impact was well forward of the wheel. So firewall and panels in that area may be ok. Pull off all front sheet metal and inspect. A little pull here and there, some new inner sheet metal welded in place and put back into alignment. Then standard paint and body procedure. If you walked away, nothing else really matters.
