I first want to thank everyone that has or is on this forum. I have been on here since 2022 learning about the Mavericks.
I saw last year a preview of a different restyled truck not much more in price than a Lariat and others are getting for the 2025 model year. . I only drive 5 miles to work so I started looking for this model year truck and I had a great offer on trading in my 2022 Ford Xlt FX4 AWD Maverick. It had 4k tow , and luxury package also. It had 21,400 miles on it.

This last Saturday I picked up a 2025 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x in Boulder grey pearl with convenience package. It has spray in bed liner, heated seats and steering, 12.2 screen, locking differential, surround cameras, adaptive cruise, locking tailgate, hill descent, 400 watt inverter in bed, 2 120 outlets inside, push button start, wireless phone charger, wireless car play, led lights in the bed, under seat rear storage.
One of the best features is a naturally aspirated 3.8 liter making 310 hp. This is a proven combination with the 9 speed automatic.
This is the only mid size without a turbo now. Looks super easy to work on in the future under the hood. Which has hood struts.
I feel more safer in the bigger Frontier than the Maverick. Plus there is more inside room and the bed is bigger.

I know I won’t get the mpg’s I was getting in the Maverick but it’s well worth it.
The bed on the Maverick was 33 cubic feet and this is 40.
I know what some are thinking Nissan having issues, but that’s the time to make a deal.
$45,000 out the door, minus my trade.
I received in the 20’s for my Maverick and had them throw in all weather mats. And I had a 2ā€ lift on it and was going to take it off to sell it and didn’t have to. They didn’t seem to mind about it.
Good luck to all and thanks for all the learning, advice, and enthusiasm.

Oh and I traded it in with the back up camera recall. Happy I didn’t have to go to dealer again for another one.
Also get 2 years of Maintenance free.
The tailgate comes with a dampener and the inside the bed has one rail inside the bed and also one towards the back of the bed for the adjustable cleats. Cool thing is the cleats are removable and can be installed in which ever rail you need.

Congrats and nice truck. I like the Frontier and especially the updated 25. I always hear people looking down on Nissan, but the most reliable car I have ever had was a 2014 Nissan Rogue with 213K miles when it had it's first problem. Catalytic converter needed replaced.

I looked at the Frontier before getting a maverick and while I liked it, the back seat was a little smaller than I would have hoped. In the end though, I drive about 22-23K miles a year and needed something with better MPG. If I had a 5-10 mile daily drive I wouldn't be as worried about MPG.

Enjoy, I hope it does well for you.

More room is debatable. Below are the specs. I know I have a very difficult time getting in and out of my friends Frontier. Especially if I'm getting in and out the back seat and for me it seems a lot less leg room in the back seat.

I appreciate the low height ingress and egress on the Ford Maverick because of the unitized body. That's just me because of health reasons and coming from a Ford F150, I really appreciate the Ford Maverick.

As long as your happy that's all that matters best of luck with your new truck. My friend is happy with his but can not say enough about my Maverick everytime we go somewhere and I drive. I think he likes my Maverick, just a guess.

Specific dimensions (approximate):
  • Nissan Frontier:
    • Front Legroom: 42.3 inches

    • Rear Legroom: 33.2 inches

    • Front Headroom: 39.9 inches

    • Rear Headroom: 38.6 inches
  • Ford Maverick:
    • Front Legroom: 42.8 inches

    • Rear Legroom: 35.9 inches (hybrid) or 36.9 inches (gas)

    • Front Headroom: 38 inches

    • Rear Headroom: 39.5 inches
I felt more comfortable in the back seat of the Maverick than anything midsize other than the new Ranger. Of course everyone has their driving positions, I have found in the maverick I tend to have my seat a little more forward than others in the past I have owned... not sure why but I find it comfortable. While I think the other trucks are 'nicer' I find overall comfort to be better in Maverick.... until I sat in Ranger. If Ranger had a hybrid I would be all about it. šŸ™‚

The mav is the only one that fits my garage. A patio home for two old people, 400 sq foot garage, 2bd, 2bt, and they could not put an extra two feet on the garage?
The house I grew up in we parked a suburban and a full size truck (regular cab short bed) in the garage but now my Maverick stays outside but when I do bring it in the garage it fits barely.

I know the first thing the Ratti's ride guy said the new Frontier drove so heavy like a school bus- Sweet looking rig and I did have interest but easily got to $46 k- Just to get heated options and zero chance of it fitting in our garage. Maverick is still a fun easy drive around town and yes its spunky -
These can be had at $44 with a certain finance term with the heated seats and convenience package.

Steering is completely feel the same in both the Maverick and Frontier.

You tried twice and you still couldnt get it right..neither is a truck
Also you lost money in the process..If you count all weather mats as a win you must be upside down by a lot.
Extra 5 cubic feet wont make a diference..Trucks are rated by payload and tow rating.
for mid 40's you can get a brand new half a ton truck F150 or Ram 1500.

Great looking truck, and it fits your purpose. I agree with you not to pass on that deal. And Again, the Maverick proved to have great trade in value, which was one of the reasons you bought it!

surprisingly has very good resale value..Seen Carmax or Autonation cash offers close to what owners paid a year ago..while my Rebel is 10k bellow ..Maybe because mid 20's low 30's the market doesnt have many choices
Not sure if trend will last with the new Ford pricing tho

Every has their own opinion on Food, Tv, Music.
And even car and Trucks.
And I am a car guy.
I built from ground up a 1965 Chevelle.
I did the interior, the mechanicals the body. I rebuilt every nut and bolt. I know cars and trucks.

IMG_4147.jpg
That’s an awesome Chevelle!

But isn’t relevant to steering feel between Maverick and Frontier which is why I won’t post pictures of my 66 Chevelle, 69 Camaro, or 74 Nova….

"Does not Play Nice with Others".

To the OP... enjoy the ride. A very different truck altogether...
