Well the body shop that is doing the ford paid repair is 50/50 on reviews with lots of rust in a year or two stories. The Body guys I know and trust all say the same thing today as pre covid you don't fix rust on bolt on body parts you replace them.

Is the Ford dealer on digital imaging if so have pics taken and have them submit for a hood replacement

We have been around with the dealer on this. Ford has been doing this for 20 years starting with 2005 mustang every one I know that was "fixed" under ford was peeling with in a few years. here is one post being "fixed". We going to take the fix and just move the fight to another time, plan to buy the hood out of pocket if/when it fails.

I wouldn't fret about slight surface rust on a heavy casting like that. It will become an issue in maybe 50 years or so. Most manufacturers actually use the surface rust on parts like these to lock the nuts and bearings in place.

I’ve got a little rust spot on the edge around the windshield. Possibly from a rock strike. I have to figure out how to keep it from spreading. I’ll put up a pic later on today.

I have the same, but worse than yours. Rock chip on the roof that has some rust and paint discoloration forming.
