This.....two reason to plug the phone in. 1. To CHARGE it. 2. Because some drivers do not want passengers to hear the phone conversation as it starts/continues over a Bluetooth(truck speaker) connection.

Ditto.I plug in my phone because my old phone battery SUCKS! Wireless is great if you have a battery that holds a freaking charge!!!
Have you tried a different cable - I have had cables do that exact thing seem to work but will not allow the phone to charge...Ditto.
Even more so, because my charging level out of the powerport with the adapter I have - can't even charge the phone when used as navigation.
And I don't leave BT on anyway.
