I recently had this front license plate bracket installed alongside my tonneau cover. What's concerning to me is its placement. Is this mounted too low? I feel like this is going to cause improper air flow and result in overheating issues. I know that the radiator and active grille shutters sit right behind it. After install, I made this very point aware to the technician and he swears that this is the proper placement for it. He said the dimples for the screw holes were integrated into the lower grille which holds true. The only thing is, I feel like that is for the bottom screws of the bracket and not the top. The top has to be drilled into the paint, which in this case, the front bumper itself. That's how I see it on virtually every member's Maverick on here. Feedback is most appreciated.

I like it where it is at. I would not change it.

I say no. Hasn't affected anything for my hybrid.

Your hybrid doesn't have an intercooler in that opening like the OP's EcoBoost.

Sold Fords for 42 years, when the bumpers went plastic, can't tell you how many people were upset over holes in the bumper. Required in California, I had vehicle prep leave the bracket in the vehicle and let the customer decide.

Creative solution, could you just use the holes they used and flip it? Would at least save you a trip to the dealer if you decide it's a problem. Saves holes in your bumper, too.

What I did for now is use the two existing holes to place the bottom screws in it and then I'll drill the top ones in the bumper as they should. I found a tutorial on Youtube on how to properly install these. It's a temporary fix until I can get the parts for it. Easy peasy.

If you haven't put a plate on yet you may have an issue as the holes you use to install the bracket are the holes used to screw on the license plate. The indented holes are the ones used for install the bracket to the bumper.

I'm not from a state that requires a front tag, but if I was, this is what I would consider.

I absolutely hate when dealers drill through my bumper to mount a tag frame that I don't want on it. You can't just unscrew it and it be okay, you have to either get it patched and repainted or buy a brand new bumper to fix it.

You are in S Florida. Monitor the temperature and respond accordingly. Move it if you have to. It actually looks better down there than higher up.

Intake air temperature, which is what would be most affected by partially blocking the intercooler/charge air cooler, can't be monitored without extra equipment.

It seems like there are a lot of "form over function" folks in this thread that are more concerned over how their front license plate looks than how efficiently their intercooler functions. I understand some of the comments, because they are from folks who have hybrids and aren't considering how the OP's turbocharger works.
