Heard it, seen it, didnāt care and now a simple solution presented may create damageā¦ WTF , really just do it or donātā¦ wow the speculation of worry warts astound me

.Mine hybrid was built in Oct 22 and til gate is damn near spot on with close to 1/32" high at hinge but I had anti theft hinge lock installed so that may be that 1/32". (?). Might check to see if new cables are correct. When was yours built?
I'd measure mine if I actually had my truck on hand. It's being built right now.
I had an issue where the cable would want to ride on top of metal plate holding the dampener end to the tailgate thus making the cable protrude through the crack between the tailgate and the box.

I know ford has been using cables for tailgates about 60 years or more and its been known since the first set went on they werenāt the same leangth! But that was when trucks were used mainly for work ! Get over the length deal and drive it !
Ack. I wish I had thought of / seen this. My 2022 is too long and the tailgate just barely touches the top of my trailer hitch. I forgot to move the gate to the higher position and now I have a scratch. My friend has a 2023 and his is for sure level not dropped. He won't trade cables with me for some reason . I'm going to twist them now. Thanks!
