A KAY car!
I found out a while back that all of those are owned by the company; those that win/earn them only get a lease. And the color is trademarked! They do not allow purchase of them at the end of the period, nor do they sell them (at least not with the paint still on).

I also saw a '65 mustang in either that color or close at the auction last year. It claimed to have been special ordered from the factory in that color.

Don’t quite understand being Canadian, could you please put that in metres, centimetres, and millimetres?
OK. That's ten twelves of 2.54 centimeters, by twenty twelves of 2.54 centimeters.

HTH.

My Maverick fits fine in my standard garage. What I was "complaining" about is that Amtrak (one of those "quasi-government" companies decided that they consider it an extended length vehicle after it was a standard length for two years. Nothing changed other than it's a way to charge more.

Isn't it interesting how many people don't actually read prior posts (or even the original post) before they comment in this forum? I've been on many forums over the years, and I've not seen anything quite like it.

Remember back in the day 2 door pickups with a small 8 to12 inch space behind the front BENCH seat ?
Back when we didn’t carry zombie apocalypse gear ? Before the ā€˜Extra cab’

Picture a Maverick with a six foot bed. Or
Or the eight foot bed.

The red one above, the back door opened backwards, suicide style, now that was cool.

Remember the big old diamond plate across the bed tool boxes ? Yeah yeah they screamed redneck but I miss mine. I made a good seal for it. It never leaked.

Penny for your thoughts ?

My first Ranger was the extended cab, since you could not push the seat back far enough for anybody 6ft or taller in the single cab model. Everything back of the transmission was undersized and didn't survive normal use. Even the twin I-beam front suspension didn't survive so well when the bushings wore out. However, the 2.8L Capri engine and the Mazda 5-speed transmission were bulletproof.

Sounds like inflation by the shipper, because they can. This truck fits fine in a typical street side parking space with room to spare - I’m sure the auto train cars have not changed

Over the years, I have taken Auto Train at least once a year from/to DC to Florida. I took my 23 in both 23 and 24. A couple weeks ago, I again booked on Auto Train. When I checked in, they informed me that my Maverick was now considered an "Extended size" vehicle and surprise, it cost more! Interesting that my Silverado was a standard size vehicle years ago. I guess my Maverick grew in the last year!

FYI, they consider a standard vehicle 190" long.
Just looked. Standard is 192" long. Seems like they changed the size requirements. Guess it is another example of shrinkflation.
