I literally live right at the foot of the Appalachian mountains separating NC and TN. My AWD Ecoboost laughs going over them. It doesn't even work hard. And I still average 28.6.

The Ecoboost has a cool split personality. Like a mullet. All quiet business demeanor with normal throttle inputs. But a bigtime party animal when you floor it.
Im still suprised how well it does. The maverick sits right at 2k rpm in cruise control compared to crosstrek that would scream at 4k plus to climb. I would also have to be traveling at mach 6 at the bottom to be going 50mph at the top of the hill. And forget about passing any semis...

The Subaru was definitely sure footed on icy days. I'm curious how the maverick will compare.

With good and appropriate tires.
I don't think there will be any surprises

Am I the only one that trys to put the truck in drive by turning the windshield wipers? Ive done it twice so far... I'll figure it out 😆
my wife's bronco has a single stalk for everything. turn signals no problem, but sometimes I struggle with wipers vs rear wipers!

... and congrats on the Maverick. great choice!

Having it match almost exactly wasn't planned but it just so happened to workout that way 😆
I would be sorely tempted, but in its wisdom, the 2025 Maverick comes in Velocity Blue (ordered for my wife), while the 2025 F-150 comes in the similar, but noticeably different, Atlas Blue.

Besides, a couple of my options will apparently force me to King Ranch [*blechh*], which doesn't even come in the lighter metallic, so I'll probably end up with antimatter blue. [I've considered adding the HUD, massage seats, and power running boards to a Lariat, but the ESP wouldn't cover them, and I'd have to do the work, for not much savings]

I havde proudly announced that I have my last two trips to help my parents without shifting their rice burner into "wipe" a single time!

You should watch a few YouTubes
uhm. I'd rather go to the dentist. Possibly even without novocaine. Without even knowing the topic of the videos!

Challenge accepted.

Its been awhile since I've posted anything so I thought I'd give an update. Ive put about 22000 miles on the Maverick in about 13 months and am all around very happy with this ride as my commuter. No major issues with it that were Fords fault 😆.

I did find the OEM tires to be awful in snow and ice so I ended up swapping to 245/60r18 Cross Climate 2 tires. They fit and look nice on the BAP 18" wheel. I did see s slight loss in mpg but the controll is vastly better than before.

The mabett side marker lights that came on the truck when I bought it had some LED failures and the Grey checkered pattern turned brown. I changed them over to the new and improved design. Im sure its been covered here but the new version is so much better. Quality weather proof connectors, no wire splices and the amber lights actually match the rest of the marker lights. I initially planned to just put the OEM vents back on but ford wanted more than twice the price of the mabett lighted vents.

I'll probably add either the yakima or rhino roof rack in the near future for carrying skis and have been contemplating a low mounted semi hidden light bar. I like the kit F150leds.com has for maverick but I think I can do it for a third of the price and have an amber bar by building my own kit.
