OK, so i've read tons of posts about hyper flash and threre's conflicting info and/or it doesn't actually cover the issue im having....Please help. I have a 2025 XLT Hybrid

I opted not to plug it into the trailer wiring due to it disabling the lane assist.

I installed a tailgate brakelight/ turn signal LED strip back in March of '25, wired the drivers side lights into the drivers side brake light assembly and Passenger side to that side. All was well until it started getting colder (im in the midwest) It seems that when the temps dip below about 40° i get a hyper flash on the passenger side only, NEVER on the drivers side.

This can change from one turn signal to another and is not every time. Even when this does happen, its one of 2 versions: constant hyper flash until maybe next time OR steady/ normal and then hyper or hyper then steady/ normal. Also there is no duration ex. 4 hypers then steady, its completely random what will happen, how it will happen and how long it will last. Again, it could hyper flash right now and i could switch it off immediately and try again and it'll be fine or be a version i explained.

I read that this may be due to the LED and i'd need a resistor, this did not fix the problem

Ive also read that the circuit may be overloaded, then why did it work from March until November with no issues then?....and why is this not an issue on the drivers side?

…I’ve also looked at getting LED turn/ brake lights but i cant find reliable replacements as it seems you need to modify some, and others dont work for long but would consider this option.

The light monitors check for insufficient and overcurrent, to find open or shorted bulbs. You need the bulb current to be about the same as the factory incandescent bulbs or you get the fast-flash indication. You also get it when some low-quality LED bulbs overheat and shut off, like when sitting at a busy stop sign for an extended period waiting for an opening in traffic. An additional resistor across the circuit just adds current to try to match the factory current expectations, and they would need to be matched to the particular LED current so that the total draw would be about the same as factory. A generic resistor will not do that.
