You are absolutely correct. Huge changes would have to occur. The old ways of doing business didn't work for dinosaurs like Montgomery-Ward, K-Mart, Woolworth and Sears. China-mart and Amaze-zon have proven that new ideas can bring down the giants.

Ford are you listening?
There WAS announcement that Ford will no longer allow ADM on their electric vehicles.

I’ll believe it, when I see it!
Well they are doing a pretty good job of jacking up the prices of EVs without any help from dealers sooo..

The following quote is pretty much what I've been saying - they have overhead expenses to meet and have to mark up when volume is low. Yeah, there's going to be gouging. but overall they dealers have to get a certain amount of revenue or it's lights out. There is only so much belt tightening you can do in a given month.
I get this and paying a little more for one with the specs I'm looking for and to not travel and find one for a lesser cost/time isn't such a big deal for me, but I expected up to 5k max (hoping for around 3k) but almost all around me its been anywhere from 7-12k more over msrp. I cant even entertain that if I wanted to.

Nor should you. But if someone, somewhere decides it's worth it to them who are we to judge them? High prices conserve supply for the people who really need it in times of high demand and low supply.
