Can you run the truck through a quality, soft brush auto wash without the deflector getting damaged?

Do these make the hood shake at all?

No hood shake. Mine has been on about a month. Previously had basically the same one on my Frontier for over 10 years and car washes are a non issue

As an update (may 15, 2022) I have had the deflector for a month approximately, and the early bug hatchings are in progress. I have had only large bugs, (i.e. bumble bees, ball head hornets, and either huge moth or other small flying creature), and none have hit the windshield in my field of view and mostly within the top 3' of the windshield. The deflector was pretty well coated with mosquitoes and gnats as was the grill. But the windshield has stayed pretty clear. There is also some tar on the deflector and I have had none on the hood or windshield, so that is a plus I hadn't counted on.

Would you mind giving us a one year update?
Still happy with this one? Any issues arise over the year?
I like the idea of installing something without tape.

I thought this deflector was for both rocks and bugs so it had an angle to it that pushed those over the windshield. It sounded like yours was tight against the body of the truck. Did I miss something? Also I thought there were four standoffs that kept the deflector from touching the truck's hood since they were taped on the hood. Is this not the case? Could you verify the part number since the instructions I saw for the version II mentioned that. Thanks

That's what the Aeroskin2 used to do. They discontinued it and removed the bump.
I rarely have anything hit the Windshield anymore. I put this on after a rock cracked my Windshield 12 days after purchase. No issues with mine after a year.

Still happy with the results of the deflector. On my overly long trips to Wisconsin and Arizona I found that the deflector did catch a good percentage of the bugs and those that it missed went to the top of the windshield or over the cab completely. The bugs that hit anywhere in the normal view of the driver were pretty large but there were far fewer than I had in my last truck. I still would have purchased the deflector if I had it to do again.

I went with the AVS bugflector 2 for two reasons . 1) it also covers front edges of fenders . 2) it is not taped on . only problem l had was two center mounting holes did not lineup up with existing Hood holes . had to ream out slightly . hopefully avs has made adjustments by now . happy with it so far .

I put my textured oem Lund hood protector without the bump.. I like the way it fits.

I actually haven't had many bugs on the windshield but I don't think its because of it. It sits flush on the lip of the hood and there isn't really any wind deflector on it. It is really just a nice looking hood protector. I think the AVS one has a lip on it to deflect but heard it also can cause hood rattle.

It doesn’t prevent bugs from hitting the windshield but it does prevent the front of the hood from getting plastered with rocks and bugs. In Florida, you have to get love bugs off quickly or they will etch the clear coat.

I'm sure its visible, but it doesn't really stick up much. It's more of a hood protector than a hood deflector. You would have to purposely look for it to notice it.
