your bedrug looks so much better shaped than mine. mine is all lumpy. i thought it would go away with some sun, but it's still slumpy and lumpy. i can barely make out the flexbed shape. it was such a PITA to install with the cutouts. i'm thinking about contacting real truck but i'm not sure how they will react.

i ended up doing the second pic. they did jingle jangle over every bump, but i kinda liked the sound.
In case you or anyone else decides they don’t like the jangling sound, what I ended up doing was looping a black zip tie in the space where the ring connects to the mount. I pulled it tight, and I barely notice the zip tie. The rings are adequately stiffened up now.

I bought mine from RealTruck as well. It was deformed when i removed it from the box. I zipped it all together and then let it sit out in the sun for a full day. I installed it the next day and it went in very easily. Hardest part was finding where to punch the holes for the tiedowns.

yeah, i did the same, but it was still lumpy. i thought installing it would fix it.

I concur with others who have stated that for loads we are likely to carry the install orientation doesn't much matter.

In my case it was primarily dictated by maximizing clearance from the tonneau clamp.
