My take on adding USB and cigarette lighter socket to the bed cubby. Only issue is when installing into bed - Leave ports loose and put the cubby into the bed, tilt the cubby forward and hold ports and then tighten on the back.

Nice job. Wish I had seen this type adapter before I got the 12v marine grade outlet from Napa Auto Parts

I wanted mine to face the rear of the truck with a more robust on/off switch. I replaced the stock glass fuse with an inline blade fuse that can be accessed by pulling out the positive lead through the DIY plug location.

Good idea putting it inside the storage cubby. You do realize the aux power leads they have going to the bed for you to tap into are already fused up front.

How wet does it get back there from the wheel kicking up water. Dont get me wrong, that's a great idea mounting it tucked away inside the bin. Something I will be for sure concidering. I would be concerned about water getting on the wiring connections, although you can always use big globs of silicone to seal them up on installation.

Great idea! Better then the factory option since you can still have extra cubby space storage!

I will check this week how wet it gets, supposed to get rain. I can’t imagine it gets a lot of water to it, the connections don’t stick out past the cubby on the back. The cubby curves in that area and that’s where I put the ports. To silicone it would be a little tricky as the ports have to be unscrewed all the way to get clearance to put the cubby back in and then tighten it once you get the cubby’ back in the bed. You might be able to, if I remember correctly you do have a little clearance and you could probably get the nozzle of a silicone tube back there.

I did my install in the cubby, but used a set with an on/off switch that controls the power to the other ports. Since I put mine on the side towards the cab, the wheel well protects it spray.

Nice job. I like the idea of using the inside of the cubby. I plan on installing a drivers side cubby and installing the 110 outlet inside the cubby as well.

A cubby installbis more difficult since you have to almost completely unscrew the ports to get the cubby back in. You then have to squeeze your fingers through the side to screw in the ports. Issues aside I like a cubby install. Don’t forget you may have to service the fuse so I relocated it with extra wire so I could access it from the DIY pigtail location.

I can see where the side install could be tricky but it looks great and is probably less likely to be bumped. I am considering installing them in the back. I don't know how much room is available yet. I am still waiting for my maverick. 14 months

Pulled the cubby out after a hard rain and driving and didn't feel any moisture. The cubby from bottom protects the connections in the back.
