I believe they’re called dome lights, but they never come on when the truck is off and the door is opened. I have pushed the button both ways, nothing. I’ll push the lights themselves, nothing. I read it might be drained battery, but it does it even after long trips! I don’t know what is going on?! Any advice would be ever so appreciated. Thank you!

Both ways? The switch has three positions; Off, On and Auto.

The two lights up by the mirror and the dome light above the rear seat should each come on when you push the light lens.

Sounds like you might just have a blown fuse.

I have the opposite issue, mine are apparently stuck on auto. Switch does nothing. Have not reported it to the dealer yet.

I had the same problem, and my battery saver mode was always coming on. Rechargered my 12 volt battery solved the problem. Ford total the 12 volt battery was good just under charged.

Kind of strange for sure. Being an old (almost70) former computer repair kind of novice, I would always "reboot". Try disconnecting negative battery cable, enjoy cold adult beverage. Enjoy SECOND cold adult beverage and reconnect battery cable. Might get lucky! Good luck!

Very odd. I'd go with @First Sergeant advice. My dome lights would only turn on upon shutting off the vehicle ostensibly because no need to save battery power since the truck is not going anywhere. Having no dome lights when entering the vehicle was finally solved with a battery replacement.

I have a similar problem, except the lights work with the individual switches. They come on after I turn the key off, then fade off in about 5 seconds, but they don't come on when I open the doors. The rocker switch is in the middle position. It's rather irritating to not be able to see when getting in or out in the dark.

I also have a 23, XLT Hybrid, but my rocker switch has only two positions, a left and a right. Mine is set to the left (drivers) side. Lights come on when door s open. The right position they stay off when door opens. Do you have a three way switch?

That is a 3 way switch - middle is auto-position.

The fact they turn off eventually when you have set to on - is just to prevent battery drain because it knows you left it on when it shouldn't be.
This will create excess battery drain - until battery saver is enabled then it'll turn off sooner & sooner.

This is battery saver mode you are seeing.
It'll get worse.
Now you can search for the mass quantity of threads on hybrid 12V battery issues to know what's in store and perhaps mitigating it.
Or just wait for a warranty replacement 12VB.

Holy crap Mike! You are correct. I really did not notice that middle position, just usually pushed it to the right or to the left! And as you said, door lights come on and I come back in 30 minutes or so to go somewhere and they were off! Just assumed all was good as they were working fine and just the way I wanted! Got that bad boy in the middle position now! Thanks man!

Also useful when someone in the back turns on their spot light, and gets out first.
I ain't contorting around to push their light.
That switch turns them all off.

Sounds like a battery issue...
I had rarely used the "Dome" lights, for the first year..
I did not like ALL the lights coming on, everytime I got in...
But, found out by accident, last spring. That by toggling the switch to the 'Right" (to turn off the lights) it turned off ALL the interior lights, all the Time!! :giggle:
