I tried to do a little research on driveway yesterday, are they new? Reviews don't seem too good, but those can get skewed. For me Carvana was very seamless (both times), one I received the check at the time they picked up, the other I opted for ACH which arrived the next business day. Carmax was also quick and relatively seamless - all 3 instances we received the full stated online offer without issue. Ease of the interaction and dealing with more established options might be worth losing a few hundred bucks...but if the difference is more substantial the hassle could be worth it!
I assume they are new. I have sold through Carmax in the past it and was likely the easiest possible sale. I agree with you I would take that route for a couple of hundred bucks but For $5K to $6K I will take the chance on Driveway as they do ACH 2 days before they pick up the car so it seems a low risk to me. It certainly beats dealing with the typical private sale customer. The strange thing is they mention virtual or in-person inspections. For me, all they did is look at the carfax and since mine showed no accidents they bought it sight unseen. The reality is they are likely getting the cleanest 2013 Suburban out there as this thing is dealer serviced and cosmetically almost flawless.

If you decide to sell with them be patient but follow up and press with them before the offer expires. I had to chase after them a bit to get the ball rolling. It also goes at a slower pace than Carmax since it is all done remotely. They send you a bill of sale, you send it back with the signed title and payment details.
They were responsive (by a human) when I responded to their texts, so that's promising. I told them I wouldn't be selling until late May/early June, and the texts stopped immediately. We'll see what happens in a couple months.

I finally had one contact at Driveway that consistently responded but they work in a 7-day offer window and appear to be a bit busy right now so I am guessing you dropped down the priority list. I pushed them a bit because of the high fuel prices I figured their offer was as good as I would get and I don't "need" the vehicle right now.

Farm Bureau gives you a $500 rebate. Only costs $20 to join. You do not have to be a resident of Illinois, a farmer, or own farmland. Phone number is 309-663-6497.

My truck should be coming in the next week or two, driveway gave me 3-4k over CarMax and carvana. Which they both dropped there offers 1k since 2 weeks ago which freaking sucks. I'm worried about getting screwed since I have a lease too.. 😬

Here is an example of how slow driveway works, they have a bill of sale, clear title, and are forecasting 3/5 business days before I see money in my account. And only then they will start the pickup scheduling process...I am in no hurry but it would seem driveway is risking a lot on price fluctuations and just depreciation based on how long it takes them to make an offer and actually be ready to put the vehicle up for sale. They don't even have any photos of my vehicle that they could use to set up as an incoming vehicle to market.

Oh, I meant it as a good thing that the texts stopped right away when I told them my timeline. I was just testing the waters and can't sell right now, so I was happy that they didn't keep spamming me with emails and texts.

It's a ford cmax. Which is a hybrid. Kbb offered me like 12500 a few month ago. Private offers were like 13500 to 14k. Since then it's dramatically fallen.

I get with the new car and high demand offers aren't there but my problem is the trade in. I ordered in the first month and I'm getting screwed for to trade in. I'm not in some little market either. I ordered on Tampa Florida. One of the biggest markets. My dealer where I ordered from has done nothing though.
You lost because you didn’t trade your car…. That’s not the dealers or Fords fault. You could have sold it outright for more then the dealer would have given you.. but you didn’t. No one is going to make up the inflated used car price from yesterday, much less last summer. You will get the summer Ford finance deal…. As for the loss of the inflated used car market, as a seller, it was great while it lasted.

Your missing the point. I ordered 9 months ago. people who ordered after me received their vehicles and traded them in. That is Fords fault.

So I'm supposed to just sell my car when I don't have another one? How am I supposed to get to work? You're trying to be a smart ass which isn't needed.

No, not a smart ass. I too bought a Maverick, I have no build date, I have dropped items from my original build, and I have seen Ford build basically my truck, ordered after me on numerous forums. I can't sell my car either, and I know Ford sucks at communication and most dealers speak Klingon when the talk about Maverick Orders. What I'm saying is no one at Ford or the dealership could care less that you, or I lost a potential windfall by heir lack of a fair and honest build plan. Our options are wait and sell when we can, or find something NOW and pull the trigger. No one is going to help us.

Before everyone gets too excited about what you may be able to sell your car to X company for rather than trading in, have you read the fine print from your dealership? Can't speak for everyone but I noticed my dealership is charging a $1500 fee for those without a trade-in. What kind of BS is that? You should be able to do with your car what you wish without getting penalized for making a profit on it when you go to buy something new.

I've heard of that no trade-in thing, I have no doubt it is going on in this market. I just bought a used Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio for my wife. I just said we don't have a trade-in for it, didn't want to risk $ being tacked on by saying we wouldn't be trading in her car!

To the OP - I realize the market is fluctuating, but right now it seems to be higher than ever. Week-to-week offers can be up or down, but it hasn't 'crashed' since last summer, it peaked, dropped and went up overall again. Regardless, as long as your dealer isn't going to mark up your vehicle you're still coming out in a good spot with the Maverick as it is aggressively priced at MSRP already.

Actually, it's very simple. If they don't get $1500 because you have a trade, they just offer you $1500 less for your trade. Shysters will try any way they can to rip you off.

I actually just talked to my dealer about that and they're not doing that.. also no added fees . I had a long discussion with the general manager and they're gonna try to accept all the missing incentives I lost. He's also taking control of my sales order because the new truck sales manager hadn't been doing his job. We'll see how this goes
