Same thing happend to me once on a gti. Let a gf put my wheels back on and I didn’t go back to check after. Where came off after a left turn out of an intersection and got stuck in the wheel well. Needless to say we are not together anymore lol.
To the OP you said u will use hubcentric rings… did u not have any on before? Running the wheels just by the lugs?

Oh yeah, I raw dogged those junkyard escape wheels with CC2's for like 30k miles. Multiple rotates no issues until today.

That, and leave the phone in the house so you're not distracted by a text or phone call in the middle of the job.

My HVAC tech was putting the heat pump's outdoor unit back together and was almost finished when he got a phone call. During the call, he gathered up his tools and walked away, leaving 5 screws out of the unit.

Was driving home from an oil change and saw a tire pass me on the left. Looked just like mine. A second later thump. Rookie tire rotation forgot to tighten the lugnut. Thankfully no traffic and was trying to set a new high score on my mpg. So going slow.

Back when I was a stupid high schooler, I put a wheel back on my car with the lug nuts upside down (flat side against rim) thinking that was correct. Ooops... Not long after, I was driving through a parking lot and saw my left rear wheel roll right by me. Since it was a front heavy 1971 Volvo wagon, the back end didn't even hit the ground once the wheel came off. Live and learn!

Dunno dude. Looks like there's room behind the marked stud below for the stud to be pressed out with the knuckle on the vehicle unless I'm missing something. I have yet to find a wheel hub where there isn't a single place to press out a stud.

Every day is a new day! It's hard to tell but I even peened it with my air hammer! That bitch is overlapping!!!

Hey I said gore.. and I said I'm gonna dribble touch up paint on it... these trucks were $19,995 for a base when I got mine in 2022. Ultimately it's the most versatile econobox a guy could ask for...

Shit a whole wheel fell off and it was $1000 to get it in livable conditions. try that on a 3 series BMW or a Kia Sportage I bet you'd be up schitts creek real quick

Honestly... I got them so if I curbed them I wouldn't be sad about my FX4 wheels. I bet a set of those are $1200 with 4 tires... I got these with tires mounted and re balanced 2nd hand for $300... 1/4 the cost... Another bullet dodged Phew...

Same thing happened to me about 10 years ago lmao. I remember I was putting the car back together, but it was late at night and I figured I'd finish up in the morning. Well when I woke up in the morning I forgot to torque the lug nuts down. They came off 2 blocks later. Somehow (like you) my wheel went bouncing down and across the street for about half a mile, and somehow didn't hit any of the oncoming traffic or any pedestrians.

You can see the line my rotor left in the pavement. It's surprising how poorly your car will stop with only 3 wheels braking.

Dang where do you live? If there's an orielys next to the pizza, cleaners and chiropractor im sold!

That's a ZX4? looked great on those wheels!
