I Got It At Granger for $3k Off Thread

Sold my 2006 Honda Element today, so my driveway is cleared for the Maverick. Wife and I both work from home and my son started kindergarten and rides the bus, so daycare drop-offs are no more and the Element had become extraneous with my wife's 2021 CRV in the mix. Looking forward to Fall in Iowa.

My parents had a 2011 Element, which they loved, and it was very reliable. They traded it for a 2020 Ranger, which is an upgrade in every way except ease of parking. I liked the utilitarian interior of the Element and its cargo hauling ability, but hated everything else about it--underpowered, noisy, terrible blind spots...

Mine got pushed back from 08/15 to 08/22. Got the email on 08/16 after it went "into production" . So far this week no turd blossoms "emails" saying it's getting moved back further knock on wood. My buddies F150 is in production this week. Looks like I'm gonna lose the bet we have.

With the length of time it's been "in production" I'm beginning to think its being hand built with old world crafsmanship like a Lamborghini
I mean I'd love a 1970 Lamborghini Muria S but will settle for a diecast scale model.

Agreed. I went from a 2001 Jeep Wrangler to my first Element, which was a 2004, and the road noise was a huge improvement over the canvas-top Wrangler. I think that's one of the only vehicles it would beat in that category. Might be quieter than a moving truck lol.

But yeah, they're notoriously a choppy ride, lots of popping and creaking even after suspension upgrades, and pretty underpowered with just a 4-speed auto trans. Great dog/kid hauler with the floormat style interior like you said, and we could fold the seats up and fit a washer/dryer set in the back, which was awesome. I think there will always be a niche for those vtech Hondas that run forever, but it's not something I love driving every day anymore.

At the time it was introduced, it was $3,000 off INVOICE - which translates into a really good deal! I do not know whether they are still offering that deal; doubtful. I think all of the dealers, along with Ford's markup, are making as much off this "winner" truck while the getting is good.

Plus $180 paperwork fee
Plus $45 temp tag fee.

Well my friend at work and I decided to have fun with this truck ordering thing, and made a friendly wager. Loser buys winner lunch and gets the ride of shame to lunch in the winners truck. So I set up a gameboard on the side of my toolbox at work with his red F150, and my silver maverick. First pic was my vin number. He didnt have one yet. His is now in production this week. Mine was supposed to be last week. He is now leading me by a fender.

Sounds like they may offer 3% off invoice in 2023, but it's still up in the air. Doesn't sound like they'll do 3k off again.
