Yep - gotta press the Go pedal just enough to remove any regen, but not in to applying power.
Slippery mode will make this the easiest, since it has the least regen already, and softer Go pedal action to toe that line.

Or shift to Neutral.
Same way to stop engine brakes on big trucks without flipping switches constantly. I keep my foot on the pedal a little to coast. Extra braking power is still there on standby if something pops up (deer, idiots, etc).

WTF is Okie OD?

What exactly happens when putting it in neutral? Does it mechanically detach the motor(s) from the drive axles or does it just eliminate regen?

Can putting into neutral while rolling damage anything?

Neutral in a hybrid is a "simulated neutral". Nothing mechanical changes. You can shift into and out of "neutral" at any speed.

It simply turns off power to and from both the generator and traction motor so you get a no torque condition.

Same thing as "Georgia overdrive" and "Mexican overdrive."

It's putting it 9n neutral and coasting, and being proud of yourself for the slight savings at the expense of having your engine available for an emergency (and a high-speed shift if driving an automatic).

To all members with a hybrid. I have a 2023 with just over 13,000 miles on it. While going down a hill in normal or eco mode my truck revs like I am in a low gear. If I had a tachometer it would be showing very high rpms. I let my truck warm up then drove about 9 miles down the road. When I went down the hill my engine was definetly coasting with the rpms pretty high. It happens on a hill I go down by my house. It sounds like the truck refuses to shift into a higher gear. I know it does not have gears but near the bottom it will just stop that high rpm sound. Feels like it just shifts to a higher gear.
Has anyone else with a hybrid experienced this? Thank you and I will wait for some answers. Should I be concerned? Is this normal? My experience with my 5 speed Focus when shifting to a lower gear creates a high rpm. So does a automatic when pulling it into 2 or L creates this reving high rpm also. These scenerios are expected because I put it in a lower gear. My hybrid does it just by coasting down hill. I even pushed the throttle a bit and it still was reving like a low gear.
If you are in Eco mode, that is the regenerative battery charging up your battery storage to allow you to get more electric mileage.

Actually - the description given would be exactly opposite of your comment.

Any drive mode, combined with braking - has a point the HVB can't take anymore charge. Tad above 70% SOC is that limit.

The description is the sound of the engine being pushed by the Generator Motor as an air brake - to waste electrical power that can no longer go to the battery from the Traction Motor.

This is a good thread to review the posts on the 2 initial pages at least, to see how this system works.
