"off road"

Literally parked 3 feet from the road with not so much as a dirt spec on it lol.

(I'm just messing with you btw) Just be careful. It's a low clearance FWD vehicle and you don't have tires designed for grip or punctures "off road". As others have stated also, the undercarriage should be considered especially with the Hybrid battery.

Enjoy your adventures.

BTW, I went from this:

And I'd consider the most I've ever done in years of lifting trucks to be "off the beaten path". Off road is a pretty risky term now days with the communities willing to venture out into places you need a winch to get you out of and the whole Overlanding fad. Once the service road ends, it's enter at your own risk and even some of those service roads have been known to claim vehicles. So I just call it like it is. I use terms like "off the beaten path to get to my fishing spots" lol. I've gotten plenty of trucks stuck before and I honestly can't say that I enjoy the recovery anymore. I've never actually needed sliders or full protection skid plates to get where I want to go. My days of adventuring are mostly done. But the best advice you will get is that if you don't have the means to recover - don't do it. Get out, walk it, and think about it. If you have to think about it there is a solid chance the answer should be "nope".
Toyotas are good truck but i would much rather have our mavericks. I have two.

Yes i have been to bolder field many times it is a great place. I enjoy walking and jumping from bolder to bolder. The access road is a dirt road uneven with holes and rocks in areas it a couple moles long and flat. I like that kind of off road with inclines and longer rock area. Did you hike the bolder field.
Went to the shades of death trail and hawk falls. Just took pictures of the bolder field. Same weekend went down to the N.J pine Barrons and messed around. Plenty of places to get stuck down in the Barrons. I made full use of my tremors 4wd locker and rear locker! 100% would have been stuck with out them. I enjoy site seeing. Off roading for me is a means to get to the destination. If I can bypass the drama I will and would.

Hawk fall is a good time a nice hike and jump from a bolder cliff into cold mountain water. The jump is exciting and makes you feel good about your self. Off roading is calm compared to that jump. If you fail you don't put your truck on rocks you put your body on rocks.

This is the extent of my Maverick "off roading", so far. Keep the quotations in mind.

My Maverick is my DD, so I keep it on road for that task. I was curious how it'd handle the type of terrain in those pics in case I had to make an unexpected "detour".

I save more challenging or fun off roading for my Bronco, which has been modified for that type of stuff. It is not nearly as comfortable to drive, it gets single digit mpg, but it will go places my Maverick won't and places I don't want to take a new or nice condition vehicle anyway. Beaters exist for a reason.

One for commuting, long trips, or visits to the snow covered dog park.

And one for other things.
