Recently my hybrid with 46000 miles began having some bad behaviors - while decelerating/braking will randomly feel like it’s surging or slipping forward - it does not feel like a braking issue but more of a feeling that the cvt is doing it as it seems to be happening at shifting points/speeds
Contemporaneous to when the slip/surge began my hybrid began having a shudder that vibrates the entire truck and sounds like going over rumble strips - this happens at around 27 mph or while shifting when cold - and happens only randomly.
today I was able to video it happening and have uploaded it - 15 second video happens near the end
Am I right to think that there is a PCM fix for this? Is anyone else experiencing both these issues - it is not a grabby brake or surge when stopped or in park problem.
I did speak with my local ford dealer and briefly related the symptoms- he stated he was unaware of any issues around this problem. Vehicle is still under a Ford factory warranty so I’m not worried as far as that goes. The truck is also waiting on parts for the heat exchange problem/fix
View with sound on - the truck does vibrate but it’s difficult to see in the video but if you listen you will be able to tell

Mine does this too, or a version thereof.

It has done it since very new.
I reported it and had a dealer look at it at only 5,000 miles. Dealer said "could not replicate"

I am now at 7,100 miles.

It get's me to work every day. But it concerns me. I know it is not right.
I can't live without this vehicle.

So can I get a loaner vehicle if Ford needs the truck more than 1 day and I'm pretty sure this is a complex job that needs more than 1 day to fix.

My 2023 xlt hybrid with 6326 miles on it and it has a violent shake a shudder that occurs after starting it in park and while driving. When the vehicle starts with the violent shudder we have to turn the car off and restart the car and it may go away. The motor also goes into the same violent shaking and shuddering event while driving. It feels like the motor is going to shake apart. The violent motor shudder and shaking while driving happens just out of the blue at slower speeds. We have to pull over and turn the car off and back on again and it may stop. It is an intermittent problem that is happening much more often now. It is very scary when it happens because it feels like the motor is going to explode. It is dangerous having to pull over and turn off and back on the car in heavy traffic. Attached is a video of this just happening in our driveway while the truck was in park. Has Ford been able to help anyone with this dangerous issue?

Did you ever figure out what caused the surge during deceleration? Mine started doing the same thing and it seems to be getting worse. Randomly, when braking from moderate speeds (50-60mph) I will get a surge when I get down to ~20mph, the truck surges forward for a split second. It can be a little spooky when coming up on other vehicles.

Hi Chris! I can look into your Maverick's shudder concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Maverick's VIN?
