Fuel door alarm came on randomly while driving

Has anyone had the fuel door open alarm come on when driving? I have a 2024 hybrid Lariat with 11000 miles on it. I was driving yesterday in normal traffic (45-50 mph) and the alarm came on my screen. The door was not open and I have not put gas in Dora week.

It's happened to me a couple of times.
The alert has always cleared itself before I've had the opportunity to stop and check the fuel door, though the fuel door has not appeared to be open in the side view mirror.
I checked the fuel door when I stopped and it was closed.
I opened it with the fuel door release and closed it again for good measure.
Gremlins?

Maybe. I did the same thing and I haven’t seen it since.

I had this happen twice recently in my 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid. Both times at highway speed. An alert message appears on the dash something like: "Fuel Door Open, please close to avoid Check Engine Light activation". Each time I checked the door and it was shut properly. The first time, the message was preceded by 4 strange, dull thumping sounds. It sounded like someone was knocking on the side of the door. I have the 10,000 mile service appt. tomorrow and I will ask the dealer to look into it, and I will post anything he says that is pertinent.

Just to provide an update here, I had to have my battery replaced at my last service appointment in March (due to the power drain issues discussed elsewhere). Since then the random "Fuel Door Open" warning has never appeared. Perhaps that was part of the problem.
