Hey everyone! New here. I plan on pulling the trigger and purchasing an Alto Blue Hybrid! I plan on throwing some 20’s on there and maybe even lower it 3-4 inches (big maybe). I was wondering, what other modifications can you do to a hybrid lol? I’ve never owned a hybrid so idk how it works. Can you tune it? Exhaust? Cold Air Intake? Basically anything that can give me more hp and more power overall haha. Thanks!

What is your reasoning for getting a hybrid but then pursuing modding to create a situation where you lessen the mpg benefits? Why not ecoboost?

Also I hope you’re not too late to get an order in before ModelYear 2022 is sold out for hybrids.

The hybrid is connected to an eCVT transmission which is also connected directly to the drive wheels. The gasoline engine is designed to work in tandem with the electric motors in the eCVT. I haven't heard of anyone modifying the gasoline motor nor the electric motors nor the ECU to get any performance gains out of the drivetrain.

I think it could be done, but I don't know if the results would be what you expect.

Now, lowering, new sneakers. 🤷‍♂️ If it floats your boat. I don't know about 20's though.

You’re “pulling the trigger” on buying one 😂. You got a loooong wait ahead of you before your hybrid shows up.

as for performance? The best mod you can do is upgrade to an EcoBoost engine.

I want the fuel mileage. I will most likely add a freer flowing exhaust and an intake to get a little more mpgs out of it. Those should free her up releasing both more power and mpgs

I will. I have to get permission from my dealership as they are warranting the engine for life....
Thinking about it more I see this helping for highway driving. City probably won’t improve much. But 42 city and 35-38 (with said improvements) highway would be awesome.

Nice warranty. I’m not getting anything Like that

You are correct. I am hoping to push highway to around 35 mpgs. If I can spend around a grand on those the the cost difference should pay me back on one trip with the way gas prices are going.

Sorry to hear you got such a raw deal.

My dealership is warranting the engine, drivetrain, tires, and upholstery for the life of my children.

Plus free gas...

Hey......it does come with downsides.....such as every thing must be pre-approved and usually done by their over charging service dept

you could probably get that with a little light footed driving.

Have you considered bagging the truck? Lowering for highway driving and then raise it back up for normal or winter driving.
Match that with some good LRR tires you might yield better results than tinkering with the intake/exhaust. This just conjecture though as I’ve never owned an atkinson powered vehicle before.
