Maverick Modifications

Still Waiting on my hybrid XLT ordered mid October. From what I've seen I can expect another month or two. What I really want at this point
is a VIN so I can lock in financing
Yeah, I like the Maverick but the bed is a little short. I recently saw a Chevy Avalanche that got me thinking- The Avalanche has a "Mid Gate"
that allows the storage area to be extended into the cab. Probably can't do it for structural reasons with the unibody but the concept is very
interesting. Besides storage I could sleep in the bed on camping trips.
I'm gonna research this. Thoughts? Other modifications?

I myself had thought about this idea too. It would be a great advantage to have this ability
in this little truck for lots of reasons.
Maybe somewhere down the road somebody will do this to their maverick.
Or somebody will come up with a kit where it can be done without compromising
the unibody frame integrity.
