Can anyone explain the battery coolant. Is it a separate reservoir.

It has a separate system from the engine and it has its own reservoir under the hood. It uses the same type of coolant as the engine.

Yes, separate reservoirs. See the manual p 302. There is a low temperature system separate from the high temperature system,. looks like they both take the same coolant p362.
