How to keep the mice at bay?

bought a mouse trap 'box' from a farm store. its sheet metal and about the size of a magazine and maybe an inch or two thick. forgot about it until I cleaned out the garage and found it loaded with former mices. lots of mices Going to get a second one. you cannot seal up your garage or vehicle enough to keep them away. I also used glue traps, spring traps and poison bait in kid proof containers. two cars and three bikes survived the winter. you have to go nuclear on these pests.

My truck got attacked when new. $500 damage to wiring plus they chewed the washer bottle. I was . I got mouse spray from Home Depot and it has worked. About every 2 weeks I spray the front wheel wells for a few seconds, and a rag under the car.

I had almost $800 in wire damage because manufacturing has switched to a soy based wire covering. Not covered under warranty go figure.
I have been placing peppermint discs under the hood and not an issue since.
I fixed the wires myself.
