First post.

Been trying to pick up a Mav for about 3 months. Ideally just looking for an XLT with the 4k tow package. Relatively flexible on the color.

First, spent time chasing down used options. Found a handful of options but the prices basically right around 30k (before taxes and fees) for an XLT w/4k tow and not much else (2023). Then, seemed like that was a little bit silly because you can get a new XLT for about $33k with a full warranty. Would love to get a new '24 but none near by me and shipping kind of kills the deal.

Anyways, some people seem to be saying they are ordering and waiting. Meanwhile, following the market for a while, it doesn't look like anything is selling - used or new. Especially on the used - many of the same trucks that were listed 3 months ago are still sitting around. Some of had some modest price drops but lots of other sitting at the same price.

So what really is happening with the market?

Thanks for the reply. Searching a pretty big area, even nationwide.

I can find many of Mavs to buy but not any real deals. That's what I don't understand.

I think its pretty geograpic dependent. I had to wait a month and then drive 6 hours to buy my XL + 4k maverick two weeks ago. There just weren't any available.

Just order a new truck the way you want it, for 3k more it's worth it. The wait time is only a few months, and you get a warranty with employee pricing. If you find something while waiting, just cancel your order. You win either way.

Prices are only going up, those prices that were announced for 2021 are never coming back. Maybe try to find a private seller for that amazing deal, I dunno.

Quick search and I found 2 near me, XLT with 4K tow package.

Get out or borrow a Costco card and see if you can do better with any local dealers through https://www.costcoauto.com/ might need to go and get your own card for the deal though unless it's close fam.

But yeah, there's a few separate economic roller coaster curves superimposed on each other making for a weird ride. The supply chain and covid one, might actually be two different curves, at least for the tech where semiconductor supply had problems apparent by late 2019. Then there's the "new model excitement vs supply" hump from 22 that's still cruising down off peak, and then the tariff anxiety spike going on since March or prior. Anyway, on the back side of two of them, but it takes months sometimes for markets to realise they are overpriced.

Complicating things are that apparently production numbers are about 50/50 EB and hybrid and demand tends to 10/90 in hybrid favor, so maybe seeing "hard" pricing on hybrids and "soft" pricing on EBs.

I myself am considering an EB, due to realising that a) I don't like the option combos that are actually available and b) I didn't really like the ones that were theoretically available either, but was "settling". Thus to get a "perfect" long term keeper hybrid, I might be prepared to wait it out until Ford offers the right options on the right trims in packages that don't make me get 2 or 3 things I hate to get one thing I like. So might "suffer" a cheaper EB to wait out some changes and also determine if some things are really that bad or not, then trade it in later.

However, availability of hybrid being constrained when so many people wanted it over the EB might be why that there's tons of used EB around and very few hybrid, ppl got 24s and 25s and let their EB go.

But, there should be a big dump later this year when commercial leases let go of vehicles. They were not allowed to have them until either later in 22 year or until 2023s so their 3 year typical terms are only about to be coming up now. So maybe sudden flood of ex fleet leases are gonna drive prices down a bit... soon... ish.

I don't know if Tim has what you want in stock, but I know he has 24's on the lot that they have marked down and motivated to move, and some 2025's. They are in Salina KS, and if you will finance with them they will throw in shipping up to $1000 or something along those lines. I would check with them to see what they have. That is Long McArthur Ford. I have no affiliation with them other than I stay tuned to their dealer updates on orders, constraints, availability etc on Youtube.

Curious about what percent off MRSP markdowns the 24s are going out the door for? Wanna try some offers on my locals, but wanna be in the realm of "realistic".

Do you guys just PM @fordvideoguy to work with him? He seems to have a great reputation on here.

Thank you.

They have about a years supply on lots if that tells you anything.
But this is commonplace across the whole car market.

Everything is crap features and high prices and not selling.
I do see a lot of mavericks lately though so some of them are selling

Go for it, but car dealers in the recent market try to sell last years models (even 23s and 22s) as if they are the current year. They refuse to lower their prices much at all.
It's just part of the toxicity of the modern car market.
They would rather put them back on some company lot and let them rot then sell them at a good discount

You can just call them and tell them you saw Tim on Youtube and you are interested in the Youtube deal. Tim is active with the different Ford communities so people know him and Long McArthur by extension. They can tell you in just a few minutes if they have anything in stock that you are looking for. In my case they didn't so I was going to order a truck. I had a couple of local dealers that were making offers on the price to order that was comparable to Long McArthur so I ordered one locally. They are regardless a good source of information.

Just for fun... I visit Carvana and see what is currently available... (22-24 XLs)
Usually, 6-8 and at least two or three are in the process of being purchased. ;)

Now, at the Metro Area dealers....
Some have ten, with a $$$ markup... And one or two have less with some $$$ discounts, but NOT Bye Much....

Find one and buy now while the Employee pricing is active. I bought mine with 4K tow package 2 months ago. Saved $2,450 off sticker.
