I do not like Dark Grey XLT 2wd Painted Aluminum Wheels

It’s ok if you like these wheels. I’m 55. Maybe that’s why. The dark color looks dirty like brake dust to me even when clean. I ordered an XLT 2wd hybrid so there is no other choice I know of. I’m thinking of powder coating bright silver or swapping to used steelie take offs. I hate to pay for new wheels and do that though. I mean I really really can’t stand these wheels. Anybody else dislike them as much as me? What are your plans. I want the wheels from the AWD? I should also say that I have not seen the wheels in real life. Maybe they will look better but I would prefer bright or if not go all in and black.

Don't know what they look like so hard to tell. But for the record, I don't really like any of the wheels. The all Black ones look good but that's it. I'm getting the Lariat and the standard wheels suck. Ugliest things I've seen on a premium level truck. The option is almost as bad.

I'm going with the standard and will buy wheels when I get my hybrid.

Maybe its our age but I don't love them either so one more reason I sold my 20 Ranger with the dark gray painted wheels. Having said that I saw a post earlier with some Bronco wheels on a Maverick XL and they looked really spiffy.

XL Hybrid here. I like the idea of the steelies and they look better in person than in pictures but the wheel wells are big. I plan on putting some 18" all black wheels on my Carb Gray and then fitting the steelies with some winter tires.

I think they look good with the carbonized grey.. But it is color dependant. I would of went for the steelies if i had a choice but not cause how they look but so i have some spares.

Either way i hoping to be the first to be putting some 20"s on it, but dout it since mine will be a late arrival. The 245/45r20 with the 20x8.5" rims will be the cheapest tire options and keep the stock diameter of the wheel...

In the same boat as you. I like old school shiny wheels. There are a lot of younger future Maverick owners that like the gray, so when the time arrives that I actually have my Maverick, I’m going to post on the forum to do a wheel swap. Administrator should actually set up a section for swapping wheels. I jumped the gun and bought the wheels in the photo (Photoshop image) at Tire Rack for Summer use.

I agree the best looking wheels overall are the black ones, but the gray XLT wheels look OK with certain colors. I think they would look better if they were darker, more of a charcoal gray. The standard Lariat wheels are worse looking to me than the gray ones. Maybe I'll change my mind after seeing them in person.

I like the gray wheels. But I guess that's because I'm only in my 70s.

When I grow up I'll probably know better...
